I’m Going to Hell

Jenna

Talon rounded the breakfast table and set a cup of coffee, decaf, of course, in front of his princess. “How’s my favorite girl doing this morning?”

“Your favorite girl is feeling good,” Jenna grinned, leaning back in her chair. She sipped the steaming goodness and then sucked in a breath while she pressed her palm over her bump. She cut her eyes to Talon, “An alien has taken up residence. Literally.”

“And I appreciate the fuck out of what you’re doing for the little dude,” Talon said, leaning over to kiss his girl’s cheek before he took his chair beside her.

“I just hope he does,” Jenna joked. “If he’s ever interviewed on ESPN, I expect to get all the props.”

Talon grinned, “I’m sure you will. He won’t even remember my name.”

“Damn right,” Jenna laughed.

Her phone buzzed on the table, and she glanced at the number.

“That’s weird,” she said, brows drawn together. “It’s Eleanor. Awful early in L.A.” She swiped the screen, “This is Jenna. You’re on speaker with me and Talon. Everything okay?”

“He’s there with you?” an excited SoCal accent erupted from the speaker. “Awesome. Girl, you are not going tobelievethis!”

“Wha…?” Jeann tried to ask.

But Eleanor kept talking without drawing a breath. “Been on the phone and email all night with producers who want to take your book to the big screen.”

“What?” Jenna nearly shouted.

“No joke and totally legit. Only the absolute hottest directing team out there right now. The distribution they’re talking about isinsane.”

“Eleanor, I don’t even know what to say,” Jenna stammered.

“Sayyes, queen!” Eleanor cheered. “This would be huge for your career. And, okay, mine too because as your agent, it’s definitely a feather in my cap. You’ve been on the bestseller list, but his is next level.”

“What do you think?” Jenna asked, looking to Talon.

He threw her a blinding smile, “Go for it, princess.”

“He really calls youprincess!” Eleanor screeched from the speaker. “I’m going to absolutelyexpirethat’s so hot.”

“Before I say yes,” Jenna said, “what does this mean for me? What do I have to do?”

“Everything is coming to you. Producers want a truly authentic experience,” Eleanor explained. “And there’s money. Did I mention money?”

Jenna laughed, “Not yet.”

“Well, there’s boatloads of it. That little bundle of joy you’re expecting won’t ever have to worry about a thing.”

Talon reached across the table and took Jenna’s hand. “If you want it, do it.”

“You gonna be with me every step, Eleanor?” Jenna asked.

“You know it, sister. I’ll nail this down and get back to you.”

And she was gone.

Jenna dropped back in her chair and shook her head, “What did we just get into?”

“Not sure yet, but whatever it is, I’ve got your back,” Talon said.
