“I’m scared to look,” I said, gesturing to the closet.
Cassie clasped my hand, “Then don’t.”
“Let us get this stuff sorted first,” Stella said.
And they both grabbed and hauled and pulled until the bathroom was empty again.
“They spent a fortune,” I said, eyes still bugging out. “Gate is going to have a stroke.”
“I have a feeling Gate knew what he was getting into,” Layla mused.
Gabby returned to the bathroom and walked straight through to the closet. “Got to teach these young padawans,” she said as she sailed by.
The three of them made quick work, and they returned with their hands full and held up my ensemble for the night.
I gasped.
I had expected fringe. Or maybe sequins. Leather, for sure.
But that’s not what I got.
I got an emerald-green slip dress that looked like silk and flowed like water. And I got gold toned red-bottomed shoes with one strap across the toes and another strap for the ankle.
“Your dad paid forthose?” I whispered.
“Those shoes are sexy as fuck,” Jenna observed.
“He said get you everything you needed,” Stella said. “And I figured this dress needed these shoes.”
“That man is not going to mind one dime of this extravaganza,” Gabby agreed.
“I can’t wear a bra under that,” I said.
“Exactly,” Layla grinned.
“Underwear?” I swallowed, throat suddenly dry.
“You’ve got some Hanky Panky additions to the closet,” Jenna said. “I highly recommend.”
“One more thing,” Layla said, pulling her cell phone from her back pocket.
She dialed and hit the speaker icon.
“’Lo?” a man’s voice rumbled.
“Sebastian, sweetheart,” Layla crooned. “I need a limo and driver for the night.”
And my girls erupted in a chorus of cheers and high fives, and I couldn’t do one thing but laugh right along with them.
