“She did?”

“Yeah, but Gate blocked the door. They had some words, and Anna stayed.”

“For someone in the middle of a baby shower, you sure did watch them like a hawk.”

Jenna shrugged, “It’s like the best train wreck of a romance novel that you don’t want to end. Motorcycle club, second chance romance. Every delicious trope you could possibly think of.”

Talon’s brows rose as he laughed, “That’s a thing?”

Jenna nodded, “That’s a thing.”

“Women like that stuff?” Talon grinned, sifting his fingers into his woman’s hair and getting exactly the reaction he was hoping for.

“Mmmm, women do like that stuff,” Jenna sighed, one hand lingering on Talon’s shoulder while the other pulled him closer.

“Think you can help my brother out?” Talon asked, rolling to his back and taking Jenna with him.

Hands on her hips, he watched her face as she started sliding against him.

She licked her lips and grinned, “The girls and I can definitely help asisterget her happy ending.” Then she leaned over and kissed him, “Now, why don’t you see about giving me mine.”

And Talon set out to do just that.

Brick

Heading west on I-16 out of Savannah, Brick opened up the throttle of his Harley and let the old girl have her head.

Brick didn’t know much about riding horses, but he’d heard brothers who did know such things make the comparison. He wondered how close they really were.

Wind whipping through his shoulder length hair, he’d ditched the helmet as soon as he was outside the city limits, he couldn’t imagine any sweeter ride than this.

Even a woman.

When he was younger, he’d tagged pussy like it was his day job.

Then he’d risen in the ranks and seen some shit. Then he’d become Gate’s Sergeant at Arms, and he’d done some shit.

And the more he’d done, the darker his soul felt, until now, when it occurred to Brick to think about the spirit, he figured his was probably black.

So he’d sold his soul for his brothers, which was a trade he’d gladly made, but he was determined not to bring a woman down with him. And kids were out of the question completely.

Most of the time, he didn’t mind so much.

What was a family anyway? Nagging, curfews, arguments, and make up sex.

Brick figured he could skip the bullshit and go straight for the sex, so when he needed it, he took what was on offer around the club, never anything more than a random one-night stand.

A few had tried to turn getting laid into something more, and Brick had shot down every one of them.

Finally, they’d learned not to try.

He was a good lay. He knew it, and so did they. So he never lacked for partners.

But at this point in his forty odd years, he lacked the interest. He’d wondered if something were wrong with him physically, but his junk worked when he wanted it to, so his body was operational.

It was his mind that was broken.
