Holly answered, “One, your odds of living large with Gate are at one hundred. That man is inlove. Second, you could sell this house in a heartbeat.”

“It is pretty swank,” Jenna nodded.

“Third, and here’s the real question of the night,” Holly went on, “what do youwantto do about the women at the compound.”

I tried to think about the situation logically, instead of heart first. “I could stay away and just ignore that whole aspect of the situation. Right? I mean, we could have our life, and then he could have the club. Lots of couples have relationships like that.”

“Uh-uh,” Jenna shook her head. “Not doing it. You’ll be cheating yourself.”

“And the rest of us,” Layla grinned.

I rubbed a hand across my stomach where I suddenly felt nauseous. “I can’t even imagine having to face them.”

“Then be someone they don’t wanna face,” Holly smirked.

My eyes narrowed, “How do you mean?”

“I’m not talking about bodily harm,” Holly laughed, “although when it comes to Lowe, I don’t ever count it out.”

Layla crossed her arms on a nod, “You mean, she needs to take her place at Gate’s side.”

“In a way that no one can mistake,” Holly agreed.

I looked back and forth between them, “The feds would know if I even got a parking ticket.”

“We’re not talking anything illegal,” Jenna threw in.

“Unless he needs you to help him hide a body,” Holly pointed out.

“You’re kidding, right? I asked.

“You’re still his wife,” Holly shrugged. “Can’t testify.”

“What we mean,” Jenna went on, “is that you need to remember how things used to be at the compound.”

“Rememberwhoyou used to be at the compound,” Holly added.

“And be her,” Layla winked.

Chapter Twenty-Six

I Can Give You That

Ryder

When Ryder rolled to a stop in front of Smokey’s cottage, he saw the flick of a curtain and knew she’d seen him. He’d been riding for some days, and those days had given him a lot of time to think. And most of his thinking had been about her. What he wanted from her. What he wanted with her.

And even more time spent thinking about how to make those things happen.

If he hadn’t spent the time with Sweet that he’d spent with Sweet, he might not be ready to move so fast.

But he had.

And he was.

So the first moment Ryder had to himself found him parking his bike and taking the front steps to stand on Smokey’s porch.

He knocked.
