The door closed.

I waited in the morning sun, wondering if anyone but the prospect was even awake yet.

I scuffed my wedge sandal against the concrete steps and considered Plan B. I wasn’t sure what Plan B was yet, but it had to be better than Plan A, which sucked so far.

The door opened, and I looked up.

Prospect threw me a grin, “Come on in. He’s up in his office.”

I stepped into the cool of the great room, and my eyes took a minute to adjust.

When I could make out the interior, I glanced around and saw a lone woman bustling between the kitchen and the bar.

One man with mocha skin sitting at a table over a cup of coffee, his eyes on my every step.

Prospect stomping up a flight of stairs toward a loft.

I followed him until we hit a closed door.

Prospect knocked twice.

“Come in,” a deep voice answered.

Prospect nodded at me. “Go ahead. This is my stop.”

“What’s your name?” I asked, trying to memorize as much detail as I could. Dark hair, whiskey eyes, club tattoo on his biceps.

“Ink,” he said with a smile. “Don’t keep Gate waiting.”

I swallowed hard and nodded. Took a breath.

And opened the door.

Gate

Gate expected the college professor to be a gray haired cat lady.

Then Ink told him that she was hot, and Gate didn’t know what to expect.

But it sure as hell wasn’t the straight up class that walked into his office.

Her hair had to reach the small of her back, and it was curls that a man could get caught in.

Her tits pressed up against a concert tee Gate was pretty sure he’d actually attended, and her hips and thighs filled out jeans like she was getting paid for it.

Gate couldn’t wait to see her ass.

Didn’t matter what she was here for or that he was gonna kick her out first chance he got. He was gonna enjoy the show while it lasted.

Gate stood, and the professor crossed to his desk and extended her hand. “Dr. Jenna Albright. Call me Jenna.”

Gate took her hand. Smooth skin. Like silk. “Gator Tremaine. Friends call me Gate.”

She smiled, and Gate caught the relief in her eyes.

She hadn’t thought this would be easy, but she’d come anyway. Gate could respect that.
