“Perhaps.” He grinned. “I’d look to negotiate a bit harder, of course. Maybe throw in the addition of an anal plug, but I’m certainly open to ideas. But then, right now, I imagine anything would be preferable to my cock stretching you open.”
Color surged into her cheeks as she bit her lip. “I wasn’t thinking when I said…”

She blew out a breath. “So what’s your real offer?”
“Thirty minutes minimum inside the store, an actual conversation with Beryl, and you pick three new books to take home.”
Suspicion bloomed in the green. “In exchange for?”

“Hmm. You could just order me to do that anyway, right?”
“I could, but you’d still have to consent to it, Caera.”
Her fingers twisted together, squeezing each other. “All right. I’ll agree to it, but…but I’d like to ask for something.”
Keeping the triumphant smile under wraps was difficult, but manageable. “Okay.”
“I’d like to go back.” Her knuckles turned white. “To Avalon.”
Saul slapped back his instinctive no before he could say it. As disinclined to take her back there as he was, it wasn’t solely his choice to make. Just because she’d scared the fucking daylights out of him and aged him ten years didn’t mean she deserved to be denied her own desires. “What about your triggers?”
Caera licked her lips nervously. “I want to learn how to deal with them when we’re at the club. More than that, I want to know how it feels to be tied down, the way Connie was. How it all feels. I’d like the chance to show you I can be…submissive. What you need. What you like.”
“You’re all of that already, little rabbit.”
“Maybe to you, but I don’t feel that way. I feel like a failure.” She inhaled sharply, released the breath, and nodded once. “If I can get through today, and if I survive the butt plug, I’d like to go to Avalon on Friday. Sir.”
Well, she was certainly vocalizing her needs better, he mused.
Caera obviously wanted to step back into the waters despite what happened, and there was little he could say no to when it came to her. He would just have to ensure precautions were in place to prevent another disaster.
“There’s no failure, only learning curves,” he told her gently. “All right. This is the final offer—we have a pleasant afternoon with engaging conversation, and on Friday, I will take you to the club, tie you up, adorn your ass with a pretty plug, and we’ll do a scene. Deal?”
She nodded and held out her hand. “Deal.”
Snorting, Saul nudged her outstretched hand aside, hooking the V of his thumb and forefinger under her jaw and pressing her head back. “A handshake won’t cut it, Caera.”
“I-It won’t?”
“I’m afraid I need to demand something a lot more…binding.”
Her gaze dropped down to his mouth. “Oh.”
Surprisingly, it was she who made the first move. Though his hand was around her throat, she leaned against it, shortening her breathing to reach his lips. On a moan, she crushed her mouth to his, stirring an insane urge to plunder the sweetness on offer.
Curious as to how brave she would be, Saul let her deepen the kiss, accepting her tentative use of tongue and teeth, then took over when she reached the limit of her courage. Pinning her against her seat, he mauled her mouth, stealing every secret she tried to hide, uprooting every lie she dared to think.
When he was sure they were on the verge of breaking several state laws, he pulled away, running his tongue over his lips to capture the remnants of her taste. “Consider yourself bound, little rabbit.”
“Huh?”
Laughing, he released her seatbelt, then gave her a strict order to sit exactly where she was until he came around to open her door. By the dazed expression she wore, there was little danger of her disobeying—she was still floating somewhere in the clouds.
He loved that she still maintained her innocence even though she was well and truly claimed.
