The day we arrived at the apartment; I'd gone to wander the space. It was very large and fancy, so I took my time roaming as Preacher talked to someone on the phone. I hadn't planned to climb in the bed once I saw the super soft, deep blue comforter. It just looked so relaxing. I wanted to test it out.

Next thing I knew, it was morning, and a deliciously handsome man was wrapped around me. "Good morning, precious boy," Daddy said.

I wiggled in his hold since my bladder was going wild. "Gotta potty."

He laughed at my words, then shooed me from the bed. I didn't know if the part of waking up in his arms was what had me feeling littleor if maybe it was a protective measure to keep me from stressing about the battles ahead, but I was happy to sink into the space instead of facing reality.

As I finished my morning routine, Daddy walked into the room. He smiled at my reflection in the mirror, then wrapped his arms around me. I was brushing my teeth, so I gave him a foamy smile.

He chuckled, then kissed my neck. "What do you say to a lazy day?"

"Wazee day?" I asked around my brush.

"Yeah, baby. A lazy day. One where you let me take care of everything for you. All you have to do is tell me yes or no. How does that sound?"

I couldn't nod my head fast enough. He laughed loudly behind me as I rinsed my mouth and then spun to jump in his arms. It was a move I used to do often, and yet, I'd forgotten how much bigger I was compared to back then.

We both went flying until Daddy managed to stop our momentum. "Whoopsies," I said sheepishly.

Daddy chuckled softly as he squeezed my body. "Then first question of the day. Pancakes or full breakfast?"

I thought over it for a moment before answering with, "Full breakfast please."

"Then we need to get you dressed and ready to eat." He led me to the bedroom where he sat me on the bed while he dug through clothes. "Ah, yes. This will do just fine."

Daddy brought over a pair of dark blue sweatpants and a hoodie. He helped me into them, forgoing underwear yet again. I already knew why he said that before, therefore I didn't ask again. If he wanted easy access to me, then he'd get it. No complaints from me.

Once he helped me into the clothes, I felt like I sank even deeper into the head space I was in. "Everything is so soft, Daddy. Where did they come from? The super soft magic store?"

"No, baby. They're mine. I want you wrapped up in me at all times. It's my way of keeping you close. Plus, you look good in my clothes," he said with a smirk.

I didn't know about the looking good part. I was quite literally swimming in the fabric. Daddy had always been bigger than me, but even with the growth I've had, I still can't fill out the hoodie.

"What next?" I asked him.

"Next, we get you some colors and your books. I'll put on a show to play in the background while you work on making a few pretty pictures for us to hang up in our forever home once this is through."

I gasped. "You'd want to hang them up?"

He nodded. "Hell yes! I'm going to frame them all, and we'll have a room for just your artwork to hang up."

Tears filled my eyes at how amazing this man was. At how amazing he still was. Because time hadn't managed to change Preacher. Not in the way it could have. He wasn't bitter or angry at me for leaving. He knew my father and the way he'd kill without question. There was no doubt my disappearance wasn't by my own hand.

And so, he accepted me back with open arms and a full heart. He embraced the me I was now as if no time had passed.

"I love you, Daddy," I said, my emotions too powerful to suppress.

He kissed me on the nose. "I love you too, baby. Now let's get you settled so I can cook. That tummy has got to be empty."

I wound up in the living room just as he said I would be. There was a cartoon about babies trying to escape their playpen on in the background as I focused on the first picture. It was a turtle on the sand at the beach. A beachball, blanket, and umbrella were set up around him, and the turtle was wearing sunglasses. I giggled as I looked over the image and decided what colors to use.

Piece by piece, I focused on the colors before me. The greens and blues. The bright pink and yellow. All of it worked together to bring the image to life.

It felt like I'd only just started when Daddy set a plate down in front of me. It was blue with four sections to it. One had sausage, another had eggs, the third had toast, and the last had cut up pancakes.

"Pancakes!" I squealed once I saw them.

Daddy laughed. "Yes, baby. I knew you wanted them too, so I went ahead and blended the two for you. It's not as much as you'd have had if you only chose them, but a growing boy needs his protein too. When you're done with that, I have a protein shake you'll need to drink."
