"So, what does this mean?" I asked no one in particular. "How does that affect us?"

Tank raised his hand. "I've got that part marked off. You see, we weren't the only ones monitoring someone. Word through a contact of mine within their organization is that the head of the Yakuza had suspected his wife of being unfaithful for a while now. He only started surveillance this week, and he already has enough proof to have him furious enough to head our way."

"Now? Like right now?" Dante asked, his arms waving wildly.

Tank and Ricardo both nodded. I tried to think of what to do with this new information, but it was too much. We had our own army of sorts on their way. If we put them up against the Yakuza, it would be a bloodbath of confusion. We wouldn't be able to know who was whom in the fight to take down Romano.

"Word is they're mobilizing enough men to take out your father. I don't know if the wife is still alive at this point. He seems to be in a bit of a rage," Tank answered.

I scrubbed my hands over my face. This could not be happening. Not only were we without our backup, but we also had another variable thrown into the mix.

"Is there any way to get the head of the Yakuza on the phone? Can Memphis find a connection or something? We need to talk to him securely to explain what we've been planning. If he attempts something and fails, Dante's father will be on full guard. The element of surprise was our biggest asset."

"I agree," my boy said. The little side of him was gone. In its place was The Monster, a man hell bent on getting the justice he deserved.

I told my cock to calm down. Now would not be a good time to pop a boner. Tank would never let me live it down, and I suspected Ricardo would tease my boy just as mercilessly.

Tank pulled out his phone and dialed a number. With the call on speaker, we waited for an answer.

"Yes, boss?" Memphis said.

"I'm with them now. The first question was if we can contact the head of their group."

Memphis laughed. "Yamamoto. That's his name. And I've already got his information queued and ready for you. I had a feeling you'd be calling me."

I rolled my eyes at the confidence lacing his tone. "Send it to Tank, please. We're going to need to catch him before he makes it to the compound."

The compound being the mansion Dante's father lived in. We'd have to figure out what to do with the place once he was dead. My boy may or may not want to live there. While it had a number of amazing memories, including some firsts, it was also the place where a lot of pain happened.

"Done and done. Let me know what you need next. Memphis, out," the man on the line said as he disconnected the call.

Tank chuckled as he went about opening whatever his tech genius had sent over. "That fucking punk. I swear he loves to rile me up."

"Don't they always?" Ricardo said with a glance at Dante. My boy flipped the other man off, then snuggled into my side.

"Here we go," Tank said, then the phone was ringing again.

A man answered hastily, his voice going a million miles an hour in Japanese. Tank replied slowly, his tone proving he knew some of the language but not enough to hold a full conversation.

"Who are you?" the man said, this time in English.

"My name is Tank. Word in my channels is that you are headed to my city to take out someone in particular. Another party was about to convene at his location tomorrow. We're trying to mitigate all unnecessary casualties. Would you be interested in working together?"

There was a pause, thenYamamoto replied, "I want him dead. There is no need for others to lose their life if they are not in his support."

Dante leaned closer to the phone. "My father has several supporters, though none in this room. I'm looking to take his place and could use all the help I can get. His head is yours if you like. I only need him extinguished."

Yamamoto laughed, the sounds airy and bitter. "Very good, young one. You will make excellent leader. Maybe we will even find time to create an alliance when this is done should you be keen on it."

"That does sound wise and good for us both. Do you have a point at which you're meeting before taking on my father? I would like to see you in person to align our teams as one."

The two men proceeded to share information back and forth until a location was settled upon. Yamamoto ended the call with a promise to be ready when we arrived.

"Now to call Pharrell," I told the room as I pulled my phone out next.

Ricardo suddenly lost his cool. He moved further into the room, his eyes on the phone warily, as if the man on the other end would come through the line.

"Preacher, my friend. How are you? I didn't expect you to call again so soon," Pharrell said over the line.
