Dante trembled as his hands fisted the sheets. He was trying to hold back, to hold himself together. I loved it. And I loved him.

It was a slow process, getting seated fully. But once I was inside, the ecstasy of his hold on me was worth every slow second. I groaned as he tightened around me, his hips wiggling as he silently begged for more.

Not wanting to waste any more time, I gave into my urges. I fucked him hard and fast, the pounding a perfect distraction for the day. He forgot everything except my name as I plowed past his defenses and wrapped him in my love.

"DADDY!"he shouted on repeat.

It was the fuel for my fire, the beacon in my dark night. I wanted to record it so when we weren't together, I could play it on a loop to keep me sane. Because that's exactly what Dante did. He kept me whole. He gave me purpose. He was, to put it simply, mine.

From the moment I stood up for him until the day I'm buried in the ground, my life was dedicated to him.

"You're going to come for Daddy. Make a mess of us," I demanded.

As if my words were a direct connection to his orgasm, his body fell apart a second later. He cried out just as he tightened around me. My release followed quickly since I'd been holding back for so long already.

"Did that do the trick, baby?" I asked once we cleaned up and snuggled into bed together. The sun was still up and there were things to be done, but my boy needed a break. He could handle it all later.

He nuzzled into my chest as he spoke in a sleepy voice, "Best distraction ever, Daddy. I love you."

"I love you too." With a kiss on his forehead, I held him as he took his nap.

When he woke up, we'd have to face whatever response came our way. But I knew that no matter what happened, at least we had each other. We were family, with or without the others, just as we'd always been.

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

DANTE

As it turned out,my surprise family was more than happy to meet me. It could have been the news that my father was dead and that I had something to do with it, or it might have been the fact that they were just as excited as I was to have more people to care for.

When I was a child, I'd prayed and pleaded with the universe for a sibling. I wanted someone to play with, someone to understand what I was going through. And when more and more time passed without anyone coming to my rescue, I knew there was no chance I'd be anything but alone.

Then Preacher came along and changed that. Even in the years we were apart, I felt his presence stay with me.

A new chapter began the moment I found those documents in my father's office. It changed a lot of things for me, and it brought me to where I was now — in a room surrounded by strange, yet familiar faces.

"My husband is a bit overwhelmed. He didn't want to look through the documents before your arrival, so forgive his staring," Preacher said from beside me on the couch.

I nodded even as I continued to watch the four people across from me. Two women and two men, three of which looked eerily similar.

"It's no worries. We're as fascinated about you as you are us, though I imagine the triplet thing is confusing," the younger woman said with a giggle. "I'm Marisol. These are my brothers, Javier and Leeland. My mom isRavina."

"Marisol. Leeland. Javier. Ravina." I whispered each name aloud as I let them soak into my memory. I hoped to say them many, many more times in the future.

Preacher, ever the protective husband, led the conversation. "Can you tell us a little about how you knew you know who so we can connect the dots? Dante and I have both wondered how we had no clue any of you existed. No offense, of course."

Ravina smiled kindly. "None taken, dear. We had no idea about either of you, though we're quite happy you found us. As for the story, it's not all that long. I was on vacation in Paris with my sister. We decided to go out clubbing. I met a man who was seductive and dangerous looking. We hit it off that night and went back to his hotel room."

"Please don't share the details, Mother," Javier rushed to say. "We all know what happened next."

Marisol pushed his shoulder as she scowled. "Says the man whore of the family. You're one to talk about oversharing."

"She's our mom. We don't need to know about our inception!"

"As you can see, that night created a bit of havoc for me. I didn't know I was pregnant until the father was long gone. I never had contact with him after that time, so it wasn't like I knew what he was. He seemed dangerous that night, though it was the suit and broody expression that made me believe so. I never would have imagined all of this."

Leeland snorted a laugh. "I don't think any of us thought we were a mobster’s kid, Mom. It just kind of happens, I guess."

I nodded along as I watched them bounce back and forth. There was a rhythm there. A familiarity I wanted so desperately to be part of.
