“Don’t stop,” he orders, so I don’t. Not until I’ve wrung so many orgasms out of me that I’m a sweaty, limp mess and can’t take even one more shudder of pleasure. That’s when I turn it off and take it out.

“That was…I’m not sure if I’m more turned on or jealous,” Isaac says from where he’s still sitting in the chair. “You take it deep and just…fuck.”

“Yeah.” Tugging my panties up and dress down, I throw my arms over my head, so sleepy I can barely hold my eyes open. “While you need to thrust in and out for release, I come faster when I’m full.”

“Fuck,” Isaac says again. “I don’t want to go, but…if I don’t.” He gets up and goes into the bathroom to clean himself up. When he comes out again, his pants are fastened, and I haven’t moved an inch.

Coming over to the side of the bed, he leans over and presses a kiss to my lips, then my forehead. “Thanks for tonight.”

“Thanks for taking me out to dinner,” I tell him with a smile as he hovers over me.

“You’re a cheap date,” he says, then winces. “That’s not…”

“I know,” I tell him as I reach over to run my hand down his arm to clutch his fingers. “I just like being with you. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy.”

“I like being with you too,” he says. “The sex is just a bonus.”

I nod and give him a smile. With another super-fast kiss on my lips, he says, “Good night, sweetheart.”

“Good night, Isaac.”

CHAPTERTHIRTY-ONE

Isaac

When someone strolls into my office in the middle of the afternoon without any heads-up, I have to do a double take.

He’s been gone so long his dark hair has grown out, but other than that, he looks the same. Well, mostly. Thane looks at me strangely, hesitantly, when he says, “I just came back to get my bike.”

“Oh yeah?”

“And I thought you should know that Lyla drove me up. She’s heading to the opening of Barrett’s charity in Rockland.”

“Oh shit,” I say as I jump up and head for the door. “Thanks for the heads-up!” I call back to him before I jog down the stairs and out the door to my bike.

Weeks. It’s been weeks since I saw or heard from Lyla.

Hell, she may turn around and head right back to Georgia after the event. I don’t want to miss this chance to see her.

Things with Holly have been so good. Amazing even. But I know it’ll have to come second to what Lyla and I need to discuss. I’ve got to make things right with her.

There are plenty of cars and motorcycles parked in the lot and the surrounding streets of the location the sign calls “Bruised Not Broken.” I find a place up front to squeeze my bike in between two compact cars and then wait.

A few minutes later, I see someone walking closer. Her long red hair whips in front of her face, thanks to an errant gust of wind, and it strikes me that she looks just like her beautiful mother.

“Lyla. You really are home,” I say in relief as I climb off my Harley to get a closer look at her.

“Just brought Thane up to get his bike,” she says sharply. “He should be right behind me.”

“Yeah, I know. He also mentioned I could find you here,” I reply. “How’s Atlanta?”

“Fine.”

“Just fine?”

“Yeah, it’s just fine.”

She’s about to bolt, I know it. So, I decide to cut right to the chase. “Look, I’m sorry I kept so much from you for so long. But I did it to protect you.”
