“You… What?” Jenny slides her eyes to me. “Is she for real?”

“Open the envelope and find out,” I tell her.

Jenny does and pulls out a cashier's check, made out to her, in the amount of three hundred grand.

“Kennedy, that’s a lot of money.”

“Jenny, you were my first real friend. You gave me a job, a place to live, and you wanted nothing in return. I want to do this.”

“Partners, huh?”

“If you’re okay with that.”

Jenny was very okay with that. Now Barlow’s is the hottest bar in Denver, and there’s rarely a night they aren’t packed to capacity.

The door to the bathroom opens, and Duck walks in. “We’re all ready out here.”

“Finally,” I mumble.

Little Man, who was patched in a few weeks after Kennedy’s attack, pushes past Duck with a frantic look on his face.

“What’s wrong?” I ask.

“Jenny’s getting antsy. The baby’s crying, her milk is dropping, and she not so nicely demanded I come in here and find out what’s taking so fucking long.”

I throw my head back and laugh. Leave it to an ol’ lady to turn a brother into a frenzied mess.

“Little Man, go tell your wife to calm down,” Snow orders, but then he frowns. “Never mind. I need you breathing. Remind her that the rest of the kids are with Carnie during the ceremony, and he’s very capable of feeding Ramsy his bottle. Then get your ass to the altar. You’re the goddamn best man.” Snow turns to me. “And you, let’s go get you hitched, brother.”

It takes another forty minutes before the ceremony starts. Not only did Jenny nix the idea of Carnie feeding Ramsy, but Kennedy insisted she sit with Jenny while she nursed.

Women.

Snow officiates, having gotten ordained online. Kennedy wanted nothing to do with a church wedding, and she took it upon herself to ask Snow to stand in for a pastor. Of course, Snow agreed. Bikers might be badasses, but we’re nothing if not accommodating to the women in our family.

“Do you, Kennedy, take Carson to be your old man?”

Kennedy beams. “I do.”

“Do you, Carson, take Kennedy to be your ol’ lady?”

“Fuck yes, I do.”

“Yeah he does,” Little Man adds from beside me, and we all laugh.

“Then by the power vested in me by the internet, I now pronounce you man and wife. Dip, you ma—”

I grab Kennedy’s face and haul her lips to mine. She digs her nails into my chest, clinging to me as I kiss her passionately. Snow was wrong about one thing: a wedding didn’t just make things legal.

Kissing Kennedy,my wife, is different… It's sweeter. Kissing my ol’ lady is intoxicating, and I’ll do it happily for the rest of my life, but sometimes, I need to remind her that she’s my queen, not just my partner.

“I hate to break this up,” Brady says as he strolls forward from his seat. “But I just got an alert from the security system mainframe.”

I pull away from Kennedy, and she whimpers. “I’m not going,” I assure her.

“You better not,” she quips. “It’s our wedding day.”

“I know.” I turn to Toga and Magic, who are sitting in the front row of chairs we set up in the park. “Can you two handle this?” I ask.
