She flips her computer around to show me. “I sent damaging pictures to Tim Larson’s email.” Jez continues to smile. “I may have also dropped a few hints to other record labels and popular bars across the U.S. about her less than savory extracurricular activities.”

Normally, I’m not all about revenge, but hearing how Jez just single-handedly destroyed Mara’s career before she even really got started, makes me giddy. I should probably feel bad for being vindictive, but I don’t.

Seems people trying to kill me brings out my sinister side.

Jez glances over my head and closes her computer screen. “That’s my cue to leave.”

I watch her walk away and before I can shout after her to ask where she’s going, a set of arms wrap around my waist. Malice’s scent wraps around me like a blanket, and I instantly feel calm.

He swirls the stool around so we are facing each other and leans his forehead against mine. “You okay?”

Am I okay?

I’m not upset, but Iamindifferent which, again, makes me question my sanity.

“Yeah, I’m okay.”

He swivels me back around to face the table and then sits across from me, taking my hand. “Have you made a decision about your contract with TL Records?”

“Actually, I wanted to talk to you about that.” I take a breath and blow it out. “After what happened with Ky—”

He holds his hand up. “I don’t wanna waste another minute discussing that fucker.” His eyes are still burning with fury. “He’s in Hell where he belongs.”

“I agree, and I’m glad he’s gone. If that makes me a bad person, then I’m a ba—”

“Don’t even fucking think about finishing that sentence.” Malice brings my hand to his lips and kisses it softly. “You are the epitome of good. Your light leads me out of the dark. I’ll never be a good man.” He gulps. “But I’ll always be a good man to you.”

I launch myself across the table, kicking over the stool, and land in Malice’s arms. “I was going to say if that makes me a bad person then I’m a bad person, but I don’t give a shit as long as you don’t think I am.” I kiss him hard. “I’m not signing the contract. I’m afraid if I sign it, even though Kyle will be MIA, they’ll just find someone else to get me to duet with.”

He raises his brow. “You’re serious?”

“Absolutely, but I’m not giving up my dream.”

Tell him! You have to tell him.

“I’m gonna go back to Vegas and keep working for Amelia,” I tell him. “I want to see where this is going.” I flick my finger between the two of us. “I love you an—”

Malice crashes his lips to mine, his tongue demanding entry. I open up to him and lose myself. I have no idea how long we make out like horny teenagers, but he’s the first to break the kiss.

“Say it again,” he pleads, his voice deepening.

“I’m going back to Vegas.” I smirk when his eyes narrow.

“Say. It. Again.”

“I love you, Malice.” I lean closer. “I. Love. You.”

He stands up with his hands cupping my ass, and my legs wrap around his waist. “I fucking love you,”

A tear slides down my cheek, and he captures my lips with his again.

We’re lost in each other, blocking out the world around us, but then someone giggles, and we pull apart, panting. Soul and Cece are watching us as if we’re tonight’s entertainment, his hands clasped in front of her stomach from behind.

Cece giggles again. “You done yet?”

I put my hands on my hips. “You’re interrupting my fun.” I narrow my eyes, but my lips curve up.

Soul smirks before glancing at Malice. “When are you gonna tell her?”
