But I’d like to be.

“That sassy mouth of yours is gonna get you into trouble.”

That’s the only warning I get before I’m yanked off the stool. Malice uses one arm to pull me flush with his body, his cock rigid between us.

“I have no idea what you’re tal—”

His mouth crashes down on mine. Leaning into him, I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him closer. Malice pushes his tongue into my mouth, and I moan. My nipples pebble, and my panties dampen.

A throat clears behind us, and we break apart, both of us panting. When I look to see who interrupted us, Grim is leaning against the pool table, smirking.

“Don’t mind me.” His fingers move fluidly, casually. “I’m enjoying the show.”

I flip him off, and he laughs.

“Thanks, asshole.”

Malice adjusts himself which causes Grim to laugh harder.

“I want to finish our game before you throw her on the pool table and have your way with her,” Grim responds.

“He’s all yours, big guy.” I sit back on the stool and wink at Malice. “Kick his ass.”

Malice is at my side in an instant and kisses me senseless before walking back to the game. “Later,” he says, his voice laced with promise.

I cross my legs and try to think of anything else other than his naked body. I’m ready to jump onto his back and beg him to take me to his room when my phone pings again, destroying my fantasies.

As I stare at all the messages on my phone, debating on who to text back first, my phone rings, and Amelia’s name flashes across the screen.

“Hey, Amelia,” I greet. “I’m sorry I haven—”

“Apple, omigod,” she gushes in one breath. “I’ve been trying to reach you.”

“Yeah, about that… I’m sorry I haven’t called since last week.” I sigh. “It’s been… chaotic.”

“I’m sorry to do this to you, but I need to know if you’re coming back?” she asks, ignoring my statement completely. “If not, I’m gonna have to replace you.”

“No… please… I mean, don’t replace me. I’m heading back tomorrow,” I promise, and Amelia sighs deeply.

Malice and Grim stop playing, and Malice tosses his cue onto the table and takes a step toward me. I hold my hand up and shake my head, silently halting him in his tracks. He raises an eyebrow but doesn’t continue walking.

“I’m so glad you said that,” she rattles on. “I don’t know if you heard from the others bu—”

“They’ve been messaging. I was just getting ready to text them back.”

“Oh, well, good. They’re probably going to tell you that I’ve booked a huge showcase for Saturday night,” she says. “There are three different record labels that are sending their staff for a big conference at the Blue Rose. This could be your chance. Hell, it could be everyone’s chance.”

For a brief moment, my heart stops, and I forget to breathe. My cell slips out of my grasp and hits the table.

“Apple… Apple… Are you there?” Amelia's voice is muffled, as if I'm under water.

Blinking several times, I snatch my phone off the table and bring it back to my ear.

“Yes, I’m here.”

Amelia goes on about the details of the show, and I do my best to listen carefully.

“So, I’ll see you Friday for practice?” she asks. “I’ve cleared the lounge for the entire day so you all can practice.”
