Jesse lay sprawled across the bed with the most beautiful freshly fucked glow emitting from him like the aura of an angel.

He sometimes liked to tease that I was his angel for rescuing him, but I knew the truth. That boy was sent straight to me. To save me from my demons and bring me more joy than I knew possible.

I knew sex with Harris was going to be great, but I’d had no idea what great sex even meant. I’d never been with someone who cared about how I felt, much less wanted me to consider the act pleasurable. I was always just the means to someone else’s end, responsible for my own release after they were passed out or gone.

But Harris wasn’t like that.

Harris carefully wiped up the lube leaking from my bottom and the come drying on my skin, then wrapped me in his arms as I fell asleep on his chest. I could have stayed there forever, but my bladder had other ideas.

We slept for about an hour before I had to get up to take a piss. When I came back, Harris was sitting up in the bed, waiting for me.

“I’m sorry, did I wake you?”

He cocked his head, clearly checking me out. “No, I think my stomach woke me up.”

I put my hand on my belly and frowned. “Yeah, we skipped dinner, didn’t we?”

“Yeah, but if you want a snack, I have a surprise for you.”

I crawled into bed beside him and raised my eyebrow. “Is this just gonna be some kind of cream-filled eclair joke?”

He laughed and pulled me up onto his lap. “Sorta, but it’s not just innuendo. I actually have something for us. Want me to grab it?”

He seemed so excited that I couldn’t resist agreeing. “Yeah, I love surprises.”

Harris scooted me onto the mattress then grabbed a suspiciously draped shirt off the dresser, revealing a pink bakery box.

“What is that? And when did you get it?” I would’ve definitely noticed if snacks had been brought in at some point.

“I have my ways.” He winked at me then placed the box in front of me before he slipped into bed, waiting for me to open it.

Once we were talking about it, I really was hungry. I opened the box and couldn’t believe what I was seeing. There were four cupcakes, and each one had a different word written on it. The first one said “I.” The second one said “love.” The third one said “my.” And the fourth one said “boy.”

Tears immediately began to well in my eyes as I looked at Harris in disbelief. “You remembered too?

“Of course I did.” He grinned and grabbed the cupcake that said boy on it. “How could I possibly forget the day you came into my life?”

We ended up celebrating our anniversary for the entire weekend.

By the time Sunday evening rolled around, it hurt to walk. But every ache in my body reminded me of how much I was loved.

On Monday morning, I met up with Jason at the dog park. I tried to jog over to him, but I winced, giving away my predicament.

“Someone had a good weekend.” He waggled his eyebrows suggestively.

I wanted to deny it, but the telltale blush on my neck and face ruined any chance I had at discretion. “Okay, fine.” I gave him a shy smile. “Yes, it was our one-month anniversary.”

Jason stopped short, making all the dogs he was leading stop with him. “One month? That’s it? The way you talk about this guy, I thought you guys had been together for years.”

“Sometimes it feels like it. He’s exactly right for me in every way, so everything is just really easy. But yeah, technically it’s only been a month.” And really, only a few weeks since we’d admitted our attraction to each other and allowed things to get physical.

“I need to see this guy.” Jason waved his hand toward my phone. “Whoever has you this lovestruck must be super hot.”
