“I think you better wait to see this present before you get any ideas. You may decide you like being a good boy more often.”

He rolled his eyes. “Don’t count on it.”

I certainly didn’t. But the lacy thong he was going to wear to work tomorrow was as much for his pleasure and punishment as it was for mine. Hell, I’d be more miserable all day just knowing he was wearing it. The mental image alone was going to keep me half hard until I got him back home tomorrow night.

“So, things are going well with Billy?” Both of our plates were empty so I stood up and reached for his to clear the table.

“Yeah, customers love his treats—” Jason stopped short and turned to look at Peaches. He was instantly at his side, sitting there like a perfect angel, just waiting for a treat of his own. “Shit.”

I shrugged my shoulders. “You said the word. Now you’ve got to deliver the goods.”

“Fine.” He went to the cookie jar we kept in the kitchen and broke a biscuit into two pieces. “You only get half because you didn’t actually earn this one. I just slipped up.”

Peaches grabbed the offered piece and took it back to her bed, slowly working it into a pile of crumbs before inhaling every last speck.

He followed me to the sink and got started on the dishes. “As I was saying, the customers are happy, and we sell out pretty much every other day, so Billy is happy too. Seems like a good little side income for him.”

“Didn’t you say he wanted to open a bakery or something?” I remembered being concerned that he wouldn’t be content working at a doggy daycare if his true passion was baking.

“I think that’s the long-term plan, but for now, he seems pretty happy to be working with us, and just baking part time. He’s been asking about taking on overnight shifts when we start them, probably to get away from his asshole father.”

I raised an eyebrow and crossed my arms over my chest. “Is everything okay with his dad? He’s not being abused, is he?”

Jason cocked his head as he thought about it. “No, I don’t think so. I think his dad‘s just your standard homophobe dick. Billy is fine living there, but I don’t think he likes to be around his dad any more than necessary. That’s why he likes to work the late shift.”

“Well, I don’t think the building is zoned for residential use, but we could probably build out one of the empty storage rooms into a little ‘break room’, per se. If we add a full shower, it could basically be like a studio apartment. We couldn’t officially offer it as a full-time living space, but at least it would be a comfortable place for him to sleep when he’s working overnight.”

Jason reached for my shirt with his sudsy hands then quickly realized his mistake. “Oops, sorry about that. But do you really think we could do that?”

I shook my head and smiled at his enthusiasm. It warmed my heart that he was so excited to help his employee get into a better situation. “Maybe. We’d need to look into what that might cost.”

His smile broke. “I don’t know that we have it in the renovation budget to do all that just yet, but if business continues to go well, maybe. How much do you think it would cost?”

I considered the new exam rooms I added to the clinic two years ago. “I don’t know for sure, but I think Axle is a contractor. We could ask him to quote it out. If it’s not too much, it might be a good write off for me as the building owner. I really did get a redevelopment grant from the city when I purchased the building. I passed it along to you guys, but I have some tax credits available to me if I make material upgrades to the space.”

“Yeah, and we can barter his daycare. Kona is on our highest priced package right now, so after a few months of paying that, it might be equivalent to a full renovation.”

“Smart thinking, sweetheart. Do you want me to talk to him or would you like to take the lead on that?” As much as I wanted to always jump in and solve problems for Jason, I learned quickly that he was independent and wanted to do things on his own. Especially anything related to his business. He liked the help when he asked for it or when things began to get overwhelming, but until that point, I tried to let him be in charge of everything related to the daycare.

“I’ll talk to Jesse about it. If he agrees that we should prioritize that, we’ll bring it up to Axle. I don’t want to get Billy’s hopes up if it’s not gonna happen, so as soon as we get a quote, you and Axel can work out the details about what makes sense for the building and your long-term investment.”

I leaned forward and kissed him. “That’s a very smart plan. I’m proud of you. Now if you’ve got things under control in here, I’m gonna go get washed up and I’ll wait for you to join me in the bedroom.”

His smile got wide again. “Since my punishment is being given to me tomorrow, does that mean I get ‘good boy orgasms’ tonight?”

I just laughed. “Orgasmssss, as in, multiple? We’ll have to see how the first one goes.”

He turned back to the dishes and then, in his sing-song voice that had become somewhat of a private joke between us, he sang out, “Thank you, Daddy. I love you.”

“I love you too,” I said in my grumpy voice as I headed toward the bathroom.

My boy liked to keep me on my toes.

JASON

Today was crazy busy. I spent too much time trying to talk Tony out of punishment that I got in late, so I didn’t have a chance to talk to Jesse beyond a thirty-second summary of the renovation idea. He loved it but wanted to write down some details before we took the idea to Axel or any other contractor pricing. Neither of us wanted to rely on “The Daddies” as we affectionately called them for business related expenses, so if there was any way we could cover the costs ourselves, we wanted to at least try.
