Despite my gratitude, I couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that I was imposing on her.

She had her own life and her responsibilities, yet she willingly put them aside to help me out.

But her constant reassurance that she was happy helped alleviate much of my worries.

I knew I had a friend who would do anything for me and my son, and that was a blessing in itself.

“How are you?” She asked in place of a greeting.

I looked up and saw her looking at me with a sympathetic gaze.

“I’m fine…or I’ll be fine,” I added the last part when I saw her face change.

“ Alright, talk to me.”

There was no point in lying to my best friend.

She knew me too well for me to even attempt to lie to her.

Honesty had always been the foundation of my friendship with Jessie.

She was the one person in my life whom I could never deceive, even if I wanted to.

There was something about her presence that made it impossible for me to hide anything from her.

So, when she asked me how I was feeling about leaving Dominic behind, I knew I had to be truthful with her.

I confided in her about the shootout at the hospital, my apprehension regarding leaving my son and living with Dante, a man I had a brief fling with three years ago.

I told her about the guilt I was feeling for leaving my son behind, even though I knew it was the best decision for him.

To my relief, Jessie was understanding and supportive.

She reassured me that I was doing the right thing for both myself and my son and that she was more than happy to take care of Dominic while I was away.

Her words of encouragement were like a balm to my anxious heart, and I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

I was grateful to have a friend like her who knew me so well and who was always there to support me, no matter what.

With her by my side, I knew that I could face any challenge that came my way, including living with a man from my past.

"It's not a problem, Angela," Jessie said, giving me a reassuring hug.

"My concern is for you. You'll be living with the father of your child now. Have you considered telling him about Dominic?"

I let out a sigh, unsure of what to do.

There were so many possible outcomes that ran through my mind.

"What if he thinks I'm lying because I know he's a billionaire? What if he doesn't care? What if he gets angry because I didn't tell him?"

Jessie interrupted my thoughts.

"Those things shouldn't matter. If he doesn't care, then you'll continue living with Dominic as you have been. But unless..." she trailed off, a knowing look in her eyes.

I raised an eyebrow, curious.

"Unless what?"
