The safety and well-being of our son had to come first.

Finally, Dante spoke, his voice filled with determination.

"No. I won’t let the two of you go. Even if you leave, I’ll find the two of you and bring you back." He said vehemently.

I gaped in disbelief. “Dante-“

“Non c'è modo! No way! I won’t let you go.” Anger bloomed within me.

I was ready to argue that I hadn’t been rescued just to be kidnapped again when he continued speaking.

“But I can give you the space you need.”

Huh?

“A resort. You need space to think? I’ll book a resort for you and Dominic. I will give you time to think about itmio fiora.Just don’t leave me. At least, not yet.”

I stared at Dante in silence.

Dante's words hung in the air, the desperation and love evident in his voice.

A resort?

The thought of having space to think, away from the chaos and uncertainty, was tempting.

But could it truly solve the deeper issues that plagued us?

Could it heal the wounds and fears that had taken root in my heart?

I looked into his eyes, searching for answers, and saw the pain mirrored in his gaze.

It was a reflection of my torment, the torment of wanting to protect my son and find a way back to the man I loved.

"Dante," I whispered, my voice filled with a mixture of hesitation and longing.

"I don't know if a resort can solve everything. The issues we face go beyond our physical surroundings.”

He nodded, his expression filled with hope.

"That's all I'm asking for, Angela. Time for us to gather our thoughts. Please, don't leave me just yet. Give us a chance."

As I observed his vulnerability and the love that radiated from him, I realized that despite the pain and uncertainties, I still wanted to try.

I wanted to believe that there was a possibility of rebuilding what we once had, of creating a future where love and safety coexisted.

Taking a deep breath, I reached out and gently touched his cheek, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath my fingertips.

"Okay, Dante. I won't leave... not yet. Let's take this opportunity, go to the resort, and see if we can find our way back to each other."

A mixture of relief and gratitude washed over his face, and he embraced me, holding me as if I were the most precious thing in the world.

And so, with a newfound sense of hope and a commitment to self-reflection, we agreed to take a short break, allowing ourselves the opportunity to sort through our feelings and assess the future of our relationship.
