Today was Saturday and I was finally going to spend some time with Jessie.

We were both excited to finally have some free time to spend together.

With the whole working as a nurse for Dante’s father to moving in with Dante, I barely got to see Jessie as frequently as I would have liked to.

Now, that I had moved in with Dante and had resumed my duties at the hospital with more free hours, it was a perfect opportunity to hang out with Jessie just like we used to.

We had been planning to go shopping for ages, and today was the perfect day to finally do it.

When Jessie arrived, a huge grin threatening to split her face into two, Dante reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek, black card.

He handed it to me and I stared at it in surprise and confusion.

“Erm…” I looked back at Dante with my eyes widened.

There was a glint of amusement in his eyes as he anticipated my reaction.

“This is for you.” He replied with a smile.

“Use it to buy anything you want. The price doesn’t matter.”

My eyes widened, unable to believe that he was giving me his card to splurge on my shopping trip with Jessie.

“There’s no need.” I stammered, not knowing what to do.

“I know I don’t need to, but I want to.” He insisted with a gentle but firm tone as he reached out for my hand before dropping his card on my palm.

I was at a loss for words.

While I knew using his money would barely make a dent in the volume of wealth he had, I didn’t feel comfortable accepting his money.

It wasn’t as if my salary as a nurse was low.

It was quite high, but the gesture made me feel a mix of surprise and insecurity.

I didn’t want it to look as if I was only with Dante for his money.

“Dante…I…” I didn’t know how to proceed to tell him that there was no need to give me his card as I wasn’t with him for his money.

As I tried to find the right words to express my emotions, Jessie’s hand suddenly magnified in my vision as she reached down to grab the card from mine.

“Thank you very much, Dante. I’ll make sure Angela uses your card.” Jessie smiled widely and gave me a mischievous wink.

“Jessie!” I hissed.

I tried to grab the card back but she danced out of my way.

“Come one, Angela. He’s your man, and he wants you to spend his money! He’s a billionaire!”

“Jessie!” I hissed again, feeling mortified.

“She’s right.” Dante grabbed me, pulling me into his arms and preventing me from going after Jessie.

Jessie smirked at me from where I was trapped within Dante’s arms.

“I know you’re not after my money. I genuinely want to spoil you, Angela. Just accept it. I won’t take your refusal and doubt Jessie will either.”

I sighed in resignation.
