“Fine.” I heaved out.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Dante and Jessie wink at each other, and as annoyed as I was at being bullied into spending his money, I was equally happy to see how well they were getting along, even if it meant banding up against me.
“Nice teamwork.” I rolled my eyes as Dante leaned down to kiss the side of my temple.
“Thank you. I think we make a good team.” Jessie grinned at me.
“I agree. As a reward for your excellent cooperation, I’m sponsoring your entire shopping trip. You don’t need to be reserved. Just get anything you want.”
“You don’t need to tell me twice.” Jessie snorted with an eager expression on her face.
I could see that she was desperate to leave and buy a lot of things with the free pass Dante had given her.
“Jessie!” At this point, I had lost count of how many times I had called her name.
“I was actually saying it to Angela,” Dante said.
I whirled around to playfully smack Dante on his chest.
“Dante!”
He laughed and lifted the hand I had used to smack him, placed it against his lips, and softly kissed my knuckles, which brought a smile.
Before I could react, I was suddenly pulled away from Dante’s arms.
“Okay, that’s enough mushiness. We have a shopping trip to go on. Let’s go!”
Jessie started dragging me out.
Dante’s laughter traveled through the air as Jessie, and I exited the house and made our way to the car that was already waiting for us.
There was no doubt that it was arranged by Dante.
Now, that I was aware of the other side of Dante and his family, I already knew that there would be men watching over us to make sure we were safe.
With our wallets filled and excitement bubbling inside us, we set off for the mall.
As we entered the bustling mall, the sound of chatter filled the air, and I grinned as I basked in the busy atmosphere.
"I can’t believe it’s been so long since we got to hang out like this!" I exclaimed, gripping her arm.
Jessi grinned and replied, "I know, right? Let's make the most of it! Where do you want to start?"
I paused for a moment, scanning the stores that surrounded us.
"Hmm, how about we check out that place? It looks new."
"Sounds perfect!" Jessi agreed, leading the way toward the shop I had just pointed to.
Inside, the store was a vibrant mix of colors and patterns as different clothes and dresses entered my line of vision with mannequins on display donning the latest fashion trends.
I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement as we began to explore the aisles.
"Angela, look at this dress!" Jessi gasped, holding up a beautiful and elegant purple dress.
I ran my fingers over the delicate fabric, imagining how it would look on her.
"This is amazing!"
