"Wow," I say. "Our mortal enemies are the Riccardis."
"The universe must like Italian last names that begin with R," Christian says. "Anyway, Nikolai caught Luca in his crosshairs. That’s when he laid eyes on the most beautiful boy he’d ever seen."
"Who was that?" Dino asks.
Everyone turns to Dino.

"Keep up with the story." Lucas dives under the water.
Dino taps his foot on the sandy ocean floor under the water. "I’d like to know who the boy was. It’d be pretty shitty if it was someone else."
"It was my roommate," Christian drawls. "I was Nikolai’s second choice."
Christian’s sarcasm drips through his voice.
Dino shakes his head. "Unbelievable. If I was Romeo’s second choice, I’d never be with him."
"I’m kidding." Christian lets out a laugh. "I was the boy Nikolai saw."
"Weird." Macon shoots Christian a look. "You’re not the most beautiful boyI’veever seen."

Dino looks at the final member of the friend group. "Who’s that?"
