And we have it all to ourselves.

ChapterThirteen

ROMEO

I open my Kindle, trying to block out the morning sunshine.

Damn—why’s it gotta be so damn sunny at seven in the morning?

That’s Italy for you.

Forever sunny, warm, and beautiful, especially down here in the South, which is the best part.

(Our pizza kicks ass—sorry Rome, deal with it.)

Anyway, now I have to squint as shit as I pull up a new book that I’m reading.

It’s calledCuddle Bugby this author named Aster Rae.

Now, I can’t say that I read many romance novels, especially because I’m so busy kicking ass and taking names all the time.

Ever since Dino came into my life, I’ve changed.

The part of me that was cold and dead is coming back to life, starting the life cycle afresh.

I want to read.

Laugh.

Skip through tulip fields and pick flowers to weave a crown for my prince.

That’s what Dino does to me.

"Let’s see." I flip open to the first page.

Oh, wow. What is this pretty formatting?

There’s a cartoon steamship above the Chapter 1 heading, which is so adorable my heart can’t stand it.

It looks like this:

It makes me wonder what the book will be about—maybe a sweet boy goes on a big steamship adventure with his Daddy.

I read the opening line.

If my last Little, Martin, hadn’t cheated on me three days ago, I’d be enjoying myself tonight.

"Oh no," I mutter, grabbing an espresso from my bedside table machine as I peruse the text. "The main character got cheated on. I wonder what’ll happen next."

A warm butt presses up against my side. "Shhhhh, Daddy. Sleeping."

I set down my Kindle and peel up the blanket.

Dino is buck naked, his booty so full and tender, I think I want to bite it.

His back has marks from the bedsheet on it, and I run a finger down it, trying to smooth them out.

I cop a look of his belly from over his waist, and push out a groan.
