Tommasso nods. "It will take us two weeks to mate two of the trapped bedbugs we had in Ryder, Cyan, and Enzo’s phones to produce eggs. It’ll take another week to get them to lay eggs in the WiFi network."
Roman roars as he rams his fist on the conference table. "That’ll never work."
"Too long," Igor yells. "We don't have enough time."
"Quit hollering," Lucas shouts, plugging his ears. "Your boys are going to lose their hearing."
Igor glares at Lucas. "I know damn well you didn’t just sass me."
"Maybe I did." Lucas sticks out his tongue. "What are you going to do about it?"
Demetri wraps his arm protectively around Lucas’s shoulders. "Don’t hate on my angel."
"I have very sensitive ears." Lucas pretends to sniffle, then rolls his eyes. "You need to keep your voice down."
Karter wraps his arms around Lucas. "My ears are about to start ringing, too."
I rise to my feet, then roar as I punch a hole through the whiteboard.Bam."We need a plan that’ll work NOOOOOOW!"
Maxim looks at Nikolai. "This dude needs anxiety meds."
"And I thought you were off your rocker," Nikolai drawls, winking at Maxim. "Romeo needs to move into your cave to let some of his rage out."
"My cave." Maxim pushes out a snarl. "No one else’s."
Dino turns to me.
His beautiful green eyes light me up in a way that nothing ever has.
Tenderness bubbles up inside me, so pure and true. "I believe in you."
Dino’s right.
I can do this.
I remove my fist from the crushed whiteboard. "I have an idea that’ll hit the Riccardis where it hurts most."
Dino claps. "Yay."
I heave Dino into my arms, then crush my lips to his. "There’s only one slight problem."
"Uh oh."
"I need you to be our lure."

Now, don't think I’m not a team player or anything.
But walking down a beach stark naked while I wait for the Riccardis to kidnap me in their submarineisn’tthe plan I thought Romeo had in mind.
