It was easy to find the cases of wine being served. There were boxes upon boxes at every corner of the preparation area. The women simply searched until they found what they were looking for.

“Got it,” Alina said, displaying a dark-colored bottle with Pomerol written on the front.

Taylor abandoned her task and ran to her friend. “Great, because I did not know what I was looking for.”

Alina shook her head and dropped her shoulders. “So, what were you looking for this entire time?”

Taylor took in a breath so loudly that Alina heard it. “I figured I’d know it when I see it.”

“I don’t even know how to respond to that.” Alina stared at her friend with a blank expression on her face. “Come on.” She took her friend’s hand and navigated through the chaos of servers after deciding to ignore Taylor’s comment. They eventually discovered an empty office at the back. The office was enormous with a mahogany desk with unique carvings holding a computer. There was a leather chair at the back and two single fabric-covered chairs at its front. Next to the desk was a glass shelf, filled with an assortment of drinks, everything alcoholic.

The dark-colored walls were decorated with large paintings with gold trims. They were on all but the one with the classic bookshelf, housing multiple hardcover books. Taylor removed one from its place and opened it to reveal a language she did not understand. She slammed the book closed with one hand and put it back in its place.

“Allow me.” Taylor took the wine from Alina and opened it with a corkscrew she secretly took from the kitchen, drinking from the bottle first. She then handed it to Alina, who was sitting on one chair with her legs hung over its arm.

The women were almost finished with the bottle when two men, both wearing tuxedos, came into the room. On seeing them, the women stared at each other before bursting out into laughter.

Taylor tried to stand but fell hard in her chair, pushing it backwards as it dragged on the hardwood floor. Then she pointed at the men, who looked at the women with widened eyes and raised brows. “I hope you brought more wine,” she slurred, while Alina simply laughed with her entire body.

“I broughtyou to a wine-tasting party last week Saturday,” Alina complained to her friend as she tucked a strand of wild hair behind her ears. “I can’t believe you’re making me give you a second birthday present.”

“What do you mean second?” Taylor moaned, stressing the last word. “The first one was a disaster.” She dropped her arms while speaking to her friend.

“I disagree,” Alina said. “I think we had too much fun.”

Taylor laughed as her eyes glazed, obviously remembering the night that security escorted them out of the mansion. The owner had agreed not to press charges but banned them for life. Neither of the women would have even considered returning to that winery. At least, not for another wine-tasting party.

“We’re lucky we weren’t arrested,” Alina proclaimed.

“Oh relax,” Taylor swung her hand. “Nothing happened and don’t forget sneaking to the back was your idea.” She pointed a finger at Alina.

“Yeah, well, you’re a bad influence,” Alina shot her friend an angry glance.

“Nevertheless. You promised to make it up to me.” Taylor rubbed her friend’s shoulder. “And what better way than to bring me to my favorite restaurant.”

Alina pouted her lip but said nothing, giving in to Taylor’s bribery. A couple passed the two women and turned up their noses, no doubt thinking the women were a couple.

“You’ve done it again, Taylor,” Alina said dryly. “I just got judged for having a lesbian lover.”

Taylor made a sound from between her teeth. “As if you could handle me.” Then she wrapped her hand around Alina’s waist and pulled her friend’s hips against hers, saying in the most seductive voice. “If I was your lover, we wouldn’t be at a restaurant right now. You would be too weak from the multiple orgasms I would have given you.”

The sound that followed caused both women to jump, with Taylor breaking out in a fit of laughter as the restaurant receptionist cleared her throat. Her cheeks were flushed, so much so that it was impossible to miss.

Alina released a breath and slouched her shoulders as she was forced to do something she’d done countless times before. “Excuse my friend. She has no decorum,” she told the receptionist as the young girl, who looked no more than eighteen years, found her way behind the podium.

The girl cleared her throat again and proceeded to speak with a choked voice. “It seems that there was a mix-up with your reservations.” The girl looked up from her book but did not dare look Taylor in the eyes as Taylor sprouted a smile that would make anyone uncomfortable.

“Your table has been double-booked.” The girl looked at Alina and swallowed hard. “The restaurant is willing to give you the option of rescheduling, at which point you will be upgraded to the patio or you can join the other party who has already agreed to this. In this case, you will get a bottle of wine of your choice for the table.”

Taylor slammed her hands on the counter and leaned in, causing the girl to jump backward. “Can we choose any wine?” Her eyes were wide and full of life.

The girl’s eyes fluttered from left to right. “Yes ma’am… any wine you like,” she stammered.

“Great.” Taylor stood straight again. “In that case, we’ll join the other party.” Then she put up a finger. “Who else will be at our table?” The receptionist angled to her right and pointed to the table of men. Taylor’s eyes grew wild, and she bounced on one foot before asking, “Are they waiting on anyone else?”

“No ma’am,” the receptionist said as Taylor nearly yelped with glee.
