“Well, we’ll see how you feel after our date.” He picks his suit jacket up off my chair, slinging it over his arm. Grabbing my chin, he jerks my face to his for a kiss that rocks me to my core. “Friday. I’ll pick you up at eight.”
He starts for the door with all the swagger of a man who thinks he’s won this round.
“Oh,” I say softly, twirling a wave around my finger. “Can’t. I’m busy.”
His hand pauses on the handle, his head swiveling my way. “Busy doing what?”
