It felt like more, but Sonny likely didn’t feel the same and that had her hesitating to take what she wanted. Some days she doubted he felt anything at all. Avery knew, from what her dad had intimated, that Sonny’s background included an abusive childhood. His hardness was forged a long time ago and it was doubtful that he had any love left in him. Except for the kind he had for his club. And that made Avery ache for Sonny in the worst way. Too late, she realized her heart was involved. Sonny was the last man who’d want it.

Putting aside her conflicted feelings, she got things ready at the bunker.

Filling up a glass with water and enough drugs to make Tyra talk, she set it aside and waited. Her phone pinged and she saw Sonny and Tyra on the monitor, entering upstairs. Tyra was all but hanging on to Sonny, pawing at him like she was desperate for his touch. Avery’s temper ignited but she took a breath to stay calm.

She listened for their footsteps as they echoed above. Then getting closer and closer. Finally Sonny opened the door and shoved Tyra inside the room.

“Not the kind of threesome you were hoping for, eh, Tyra?” Avery announced.

Tyra turned and slapped Sonny. He barely flinched, grabbed her arms and hauled her into a chair as she kicked and yelled. Avery moved just as quickly, tying Tyra’s arms and legs with rope just tight enough to bind.

“You fucking asshole, you have no idea what you’ve done!” Tyra screamed, her eyes bulging.

“This is about what you’ve done, bitch. Now we can do this the nice way or the hard way. Which do you prefer?” Sonny asked as Avery passed him the glass of water.

“Fuck you, you lunatic!” Tyra spat out.

He forced Tyra’s jaw open as she wriggled and pulled at her restraints. She coughed and spat out some of the water but most of it went down her throat.

“You wanted to get high, so stop fighting it. Enjoy the ride,” Sonny murmured as he walked over to his toolkit. “You have it better than Ray did. He didn’t get to enjoy any drugs before I sliced his throat.”

“It don’t matter if you fuck me up. I got protection.”

Sonny looked around and laughed. “From who? Death Riders? They ain’t here, honey. And in a minute or so, we won’t need to fuck you up. You’re gonna tell us everything.”

“I… I’m not a weak shit like Ray. I’m stronger. I won’t… I won’t… talk,” She moaned and threw her head back. “God, I feel weird. Hot, and itchy. What the fuck…the fuck did you give me?”

“Tell us who invited you to the Hellraisers party and how you found out about our gun storage,” Sonny asked, arms crossed as he stood before Tyra. “Now!” he yelled out.

Tyra shook her head and her red hair slipped out of its ponytail.

“Give it another minute,” Avery demanded as she watched Tyra.

Her brown eyes were glassy, and her pupils dilated.

“Did you give her enough?” Sonny bit out.

“I know what I’m doing, have some fucking patience,” Avery snapped back.

“Tyra,” Sonny murmured as he leaned over and held her chin up. “Tell me who invited you to our party.”

Tyra gave a lopsided smile and laughed. “Easy. So easy…”

“Who invited you?” Sonny’s tone was lower, softer.

“Hazel…Dante…she fucks hellraisers. S-she does my nails. She’s stupid b-but she likes to fuck bikers…Galen told me to say h-hi to her, make her… make her my friend.” Tyra giggled again. “I’m in l-love with Galen. God, I love him. But it’s a secret so sh-shush… His brother Kingston and I love coke.”

Sonny glanced at Avery with wide eyes. She crossed her arms and waited for his apology, but she knew it wouldn’t come.

“Galen…Galen… asked me ‘baby, get me something about the hell…hell…hellraisers,” she panted. “I said anything for you, baby. And I did…. Even fucked Ray…p-pretended to be his girlfriend. Ray was a test….test run to see if we could steal them. So many guns…Galen’s gonna take everything from hell.”

“Who told you where the guns were stored?” Avery asked.

Tyra snorted, then licked her dry lips. “Not me…not you.”

“I guess your truth serum has its limits,” Sonny smirked at Avery. “My methods are much more fruitful.”

“If this doesn’t pan out, do what you need to,” Avery answered and watched Tyra’s head loll back. “We’ve confirmed she’s involved with Galen, and he’s the one who put her up to this. Hazel is a regular at our parties, but Tyra only appeared a month ago. Sounds like Galen set Tyra in Hazel’s shop to get her to befriend her and score an invite to our party.”
