“Finish the interview and get rid of her.”

“You don’t want to use her to draw Galen out?” Avery asked.

“No way is he coming to her rescue. She’s just another one of his bitches. A pawn in his game. If she talks first, great. If she refuses to say anything more, that’s fine too. We don’t need her anymore. She’s a liability.”

“I’ll see to it now,” Sonny responded. “Then we’ll see what Xander has for us.”

“What can I do?” Avery asked.

“You help Sonny with clean up and meet us back here in an hour. If Xander is right and our data’s been compromised, we need to act quickly. He’s upped the security monitoring, and changed our passcodes but we’ll need to move our storage location. I’ve got Jackson rounding up the recruits to start the process of loading up.”

Avery nodded. She hoped Xander was wrong in this instance, but her gut told her otherwise. Sonny stood up and offered his hand to her, and she readily took it.

“Limit your PDA in the clubhouse, understand?” Gage bellowed as his cell rang.

Avery and Sonny quickly left the office and headed out the back door.

“That wasn’t as bad as I thought,” Sonny murmured as they walked around the clubhouse.

“Not tempted to run away?” Avery asked.

Sonny stopped walking and turned to her, his blue eyes piercing.

“Not even a little bit.”

Walking past the other members (to more shouts and hollering), they left the clubhouse and headed back to the bunker to question Tyra.

The woman was tired, hungry, and starting to go into withdrawal – hallucinating and babbling incoherently. With no further answers, there was nothing more they could do.

Sonny quickly executed Tyra, and then Avery helped him load the body into the incinerator.

Gage sent a group text asking them to get back to the clubhouse ASAP. Once they were back, everyone gathered in the main meeting room.

Gage stood at the front with Xander by his side.

“We got a lot of work ahead of us in the coming days. Xander, tell us what you found, and we’ll go from there,” Gage said.

Xander nodded, his face more serious than Avery had ever seen before. “As I suspected, Wyatt’s computer had spyware on it. The installation was done a few days before the gun theft, during the hours when Louisa Jacobs was at the range. She’s a local businesswoman who runs a trucking company and she’s in debt to Galen Hedge. My guess is her involvement is part of her debt repayment. She likely distracted Wyatt somehow and quickly installed the software. Wyatt wouldn’t have noticed anything different, except maybe a slower download speed. This kind of tactic is smart, efficient, and we were none the wiser.”

“Until now,” Gage interrupted.

“Until now. I’m working on cleaning up the tech mess. But at this point we don’t know how much information Galen and his crew have about our operation. Wyatt is the brains behind it and used his computer to log everything. We also looked at the security footage for the time Wyatt was shot and it cuts out as soon as Louisa enters the range. We think she’s the shooter.”

Suddenly, every member had a question.

“What’s next?”

“When are we getting rid of this bitch and the Death Riders?”

“If that thief got onto our property, how do we protect our stuff?”

Gage held his hand up. “One at a time. First off, Xander’s updated our compound security - new passcodes and updated cameras, thanks to help from Nate. We got permission from the farmer across the road to review camera footage on her property line and are keeping a close eye. No outside person comes onto our property for now, does everyone understand?”

Murmurs and nods were made all around.

“Good. Sonny’s going to deal with Louisa. In terms of our gun storage, we need to move it. We can’t leave it in place and risk the rest of our inventory. I’ll need all hands to get stuff moved to a new, secure location. Dante is leading this job, any questions, ask him. And finally, we’re going to use the same technology Galen used to spy on us to get our fucking revenge.”

“Yes! Get to the good part,” Jackson shouted.
