The reception desk was empty too and Sonny paused. He didn’t hear any movement, save for the hum of a nearby photocopier.

“First door on the right,” Sonny whispered as they walked past the desk and to the right.

The door to the office was open and a woman sat behind a large wooden desk. A row of certificates lined the wall, degrees from university along with business licenses. Sonny recognized Louisa from one of the parties with her short dark hair cut in a severe bob.

But this time, there was a scowl on her face told Sonny she was not having the best of days. It was only going to get worse.

“Good evening, Ms. Jacobs, I hope you don’t mind a visitor. Or two,” Avery announced as Louisa Jacobs finally looked up from her desk.

“Oh fuck,” Louisa murmured as a flush ran over her cheeks.

Sonny pulled out his Glock and aimed it at her. “Oh fuck is right. Don’t even think of screaming or reaching for your phone. Put your hands up.”

Louisa licked her lips and slowly did as she was told, her hands shaking.

“You thought you could shoot Wyatt and what? The Hellraisers wouldn’t find out? You ain’t that smart lady, despite your fancy degrees. And working with Galen Hedge and the Death Riders to try to bring us down was a very big mistake on your part.”

“I didn’t have any choice,” Louisa whispered. “I owe him a fuck ton of money. I could lose my entire business.”

“You’re gonna lose a helluva lot more. Where’s your security feed?” Sonny demanded.

Louise motioned to her laptop with a nod of her head. “I control everything from here.”

Avery walked around and stood beside Louisa. “Delete all footage from today and disable the cameras. And we’re watching every keystroke so don’t try anything stupid.”

Louisa slowly lowered her hands and began to type as Sonny walked around and placed the gun against her temple.

He watched as all five screens of the parking lot and front entrance went blank. Then Avery pulled a USB stick out of her pocket and shoved it in the laptop and tapped out several commands.

“What are you doing?” Louisa asked.

“You spied on us, so now we’re returning the favor. Now shut up,” Avery replied as she continued to type.

After a minute, Avery closed the laptop and placed it in her bag. She looked up at Sonny and nodded.

“You’re coming with us.”

“No, please. Maybe I can help you. We can make a deal.”

“It don’t work that way, bitch. You can’t be trusted. Now get up.”

Avery hauled Louise up and they walked out of the building, Avery on one side and Sonny on the other, with the gun pushed against Louisa’s ribs.

“Get in the car.”

Louisa’s trembling hands unlocked her car. Avery pushed Louisa in the driver’s seat while Sonny slid into the passenger side and aimed his gun at her. Then Avery walked off and got into their SUV as planned.

Louisa’s phone rang, and Sonny noticed the call details on the car’s Bluetooth speaker.

“Looks like Galen is calling. Probably got another job for you. Too bad you’ve gone out of business.”

Sonny shot Louisa execution style. One shot to the head.

Her body slumped forward on the wheel, blood spatter covering the cracked window and dashboard. Ignoring the smell of gunpowder and copper, he rummaged through the car and took all her shit including cash, two cell phones, and a handgun from the glove compartment. Sonny made sure to make it look like a car robbery gone wrong. After making sure the scene was staged just right, Sonny slid out of the car and headed back over to the SUV.

“Let’s get out of here,” Sonny said as he slammed the door.

“How come you finished her off here and not at the bunker?” Avery asked as she pulled out of the lot.
