We finish the rest of the pizza by the time the episode is done. I kind of expect Prescott to get up and leave, but he doesn’t give me any indication he’ll do it. Instead, he lies down, and one episode turns into two.

A shiver runs through my body, but before I can slip under the covers, Prescott pulls the blanket from the foot of the bed and covers us both with it, his arm sliding around my waist as he pulls me to him.

Snuggled under the blanket, I look over my shoulder, my eyes meeting his.

“What? You were cold.”

“I didn’t say anything.”

“But you were thinking it.” He tweaks my nose. “I can see it on your face.”

I frown and shove his hand away. “There is nothing on my face.” I turn back to the laptop. “Shouldn’t you go home?”

“Nope, I just settled down. Plus, the show is getting interesting.”

“See? I told you this is fun.”

“As much as a bunch of psychopaths can be fun,” he scoffs. “Now, shush and let me watch.”

I shove my elbow back, connecting it to Prescott’s gut.

“Ouch, what was that for?”

“For bossing me around.”

“You know that only means I’ll have to hold you tighter, so you won’t be able to do it again, right?”

“Prescott!” I protest as he squeezes me, making it hard to breathe.

I try to squirm out of his hold, but he’s relentless. I look over my shoulder, only to find his face just inches away from mine. I suck in a breath, the spicy scent of his cologne filling my lungs. My gaze falls to his mouth, those full lips slightly parted, his warm breath touching my lips.

Those damn lips that tempt me so badly.

It would be so easy, so damn easy, to lean in and close the distance between us.

So. Damn. Easy.

I graze my teeth over my lower lip and slowly raise my gaze.

All the amusement is gone from those chocolate irises, and there is only raw aching need left there.

My tummy clenches in anticipation, and I can feel that familiar pulse between my thighs.

“What?” he asks, his voice rough.

I inhale a shaky breath. “Just watch the tv show.”

* * *

“No.”

I shift, pulling the blanket closer around me, as I snuggle deeper into the warmth. I’m just about to drift back to sleep when the soft sound comes again, louder this time, more desperate.

“No. No.No! Gabriel…”

Gabriel?

Before my brain can connect what’s going on, an elbow connects with my side, knocking the air out of my lungs.
