Bad in bed? Ha! If only that was my problem. Maybe then, I wouldn’t be thinking about it, about her, or thinking about when I can sneak in her bed once again and find a creative way to make her pay for scratching me.

“I’m not talking about her,” I mutter, shifting my attention to my breakfast. I shove a piece of bacon into my mouth, but all the while, I can feel Spencer’s eyes on me. “What?”

“You don’t want to talk about her? You always talk about your hookups.”

“Do not.”

“Do too. Like, seriously. All the freaking time. Which makes me wonder even more, who’s the hellcat?”

“You’re delusional, and you’re starting to get on my nerves. She’s just a hookup. That’s all.”

“Mhmm… Just a hookup.”

I grab my plate and get to my feet. “I’m going to my room. I have some reading to do before my class.”

Spencer gives me a knowing smirk. “And maybe give those scratches a look. You don’t want them to get infected, do you?”

“Freaking asshole,” I mutter as I get into my bedroom and walk straight to the mirror that’s hanging on the closet door. I turn my back to it and look over my shoulder. There are six bright red scratches on my back, surrounded by a few paler ones.

“I’m going to fucking kill her.”

CHAPTERTWENTY-TWO

JADE

“Why do I feel like you’re trying to avoid me?”

I look over the edge of my laptop to find my friends standing in front of my table.

“I’m not trying to avoid you.”

Rei slips into the seat next to me. “Was the date that bad?”

I shift from Grace to Rei. “What date?”

“Umm… the one you went on the other day?”

Shit.

My date with Michael,right.

The one I forgot all about because Prescott wiped it out of my mind with his very talented… hands. And mouth. Okay, and dick. His very talented and very big dick. Not that I’ll ever admit it out loud.

“Oh, that date.”

“How many dates are you going on?” Penny asks as she takes a sip of her coffee.

“It was bad,” Rei shakes her head. “I knew it.”

“It wasn’t bad. I just don’t date.”

“You don’t date, but you went out on adouble datewith Grace and Mason?”

“I went out todinnerwith a group of friends,” I correct, shifting my attention to Grace. “And I’m not avoiding you. You haven’t been home all weekend.” I give a pointed look to Rei. “Neither have you.”

“I was home, but I didn’t hear you stopping by,” Penny chimes in. “So how was your none-date-date?”

“Just so you know, I’m rolling my eyes really hard right now,” I mutter, grabbing my cup, only to find it empty. Great. Now I don’t have coffee either.
