Page 129 of Kiss Me Tenderly

I swipe my tongue over his, pulling him deeper into my mouth as my fingers sink into his hair, tugging him closer to me. His body connects to mine, all those hard muscles brushing against me, and a moan comes out of my lungs.

Unable to resist it, I run my fingers through his thick hair and let my hand slide down. I need to touch him, to feel him, in the only way I know how.

A zap of electricity goes through my arm at the touch of his naked skin against mine, but I don’t let it deter me.

He didn’t put a shirt on, so his chest is gloriously naked. His skin warms my palms as I explore strong, defined muscles of his back. They ripple under my touch, smooth and soft, the complete contrast to the tough, complex man that he is.

Groaning softly, he moves closer, his hard length nestling between my spread thighs. My legs tighten around his waist as that ache in my belly grows stronger.

My fingers flex, my nails grazing against his back and down his chest, his abs…

But before I can progress any further, Henry barks loudly.

Bash breaks the kiss and grabs my wrist. “That damn dog.”

“Henry, it’s fine. Go to your bed.”

Henry whines but does as asked, his paws scratching against the hardwood as he walks away, and I try to continue my exploring. Or I would, if Sebastian would let me.

“You’re playing a dangerous game, Birdy,” he breathes, his breaths coming out in ragged pants.

“W-What?”

“If you continue touching me like that, there will be no going back.”

My tongue darts out, sliding over my tender lower lip. “I don’t want to go back.”

His fingers tighten in my hair as he lets out a shaky breath, his forehead pressing against mine. “Are you sure?”

I lift my hand, tentatively skimming over his cheek, feeling the hard lines under my thumb. “I’m sure.”

Without thinking, I jump off the counter, take his hand, and pull him down the hallway toward my bedroom. Somewhere halfway between, he kisses me again, and he doesn’t stop until we bump into my door.

Reluctantly, I pull my hand back and open my door, taking a step back as my hand goes to his chest once again, and this time he doesn’t try to stop me.

So I touch him, feeling the strong muscles under my palms as my hand skims over his chest and down his flat stomach.

“Shit, Penelope,” he hisses softly, his abs constricting under my fingertips.

The corner of my mouth tips upward as I toy with the waistband of his sweats, suddenly feeling coy. “Penelope, huh? I guess you do know my name after all.”

My fingers slip underneath the material, only to be greeted by more naked skin. Sebastian curses, and the next thing I know, the backs of my legs bump into the mattress, and I’m on the bed, the air kicked out of my lungs.

“I’ve always known your name, Penelope.”

Shivers run through me at the sound of my name in that husky voice of his.

The mattress dips as he joins me on the bed, his fingers brushing a strand of hair from my face.

“I saw you that first day, and I couldn’t pull my gaze from you.” His lips land on my neck, his warm breath sending chills through my body. “I see you, Penelope. Every single part of you, and I can’t get enough.”

I know he does. Maybe even too well for my own good. I could feel his gaze on me. It was like a living, breathing thing with a will of its own.

“Sebastian…” I breathe. Turning my head to the side, my mouth meets his.

I’ve been kissed before, but damn, not once was I kissed like this. Gentle yet demanding. A kiss that shakes me to my bones and makes me feel safe all at once.

“I don’t care who he is to you. I don’t want to see you in this fucking shirt ever again.”
