Crouching down, she picks up her shirt. My eyes roam her body, taking in her long legs, and I swear I can still feel them wrapped around my waist as my dick slid into her wet heat.

Down boy, or you’ll really break her.

But then she starts to pull that damn shirt back on.

“What?” I sit upright just as the dog jumps from the bed. “I already took him out. I don’t see what the big deal is. Besides, as we already established, you’re not going out dressed like that.” I grab the shirt from her hand. “And you’re most definitely not wearingthat.”

“He’s my brother-in-law. There is really no need for a reaction like that.”

“He can be Jesus himself for all I care. You’re not putting his shirt on.” I slip my finger under her chin and tilt it up. “Go and find something else to wear while I take care of the dog. And then I’m taking you out.”

“Out?”

“Yes, out. I’ve worked up an appetite, and if we don’t go out to eat, I might just eat you.” That blush grows deeper on her cheeks, and I can’t help but brush my mouth against her one more time. “Clothes. We’ll be back soon, and I’m not responsible for what happens if you’re not decent, Birdy.”

CHAPTERTWENTY-NINE

PENELOPE

“How is Sebastian doing?”

Grace’s question has me snapping my head up, and I swear I can feel my cheeks heat at the mere mention of his name.

“Oh, he seems to be doingjustfine,” Jade chimes in with a giddy undertone that I’m not sure where to place.

“And how would you know?”

We haven’t talked the last few days, ever since she came to my apartment to bring me some of Prescott’s clothes, so Sebastian had something to change into until he felt better and could break into his apartment.

“Because I saw him this morning in front of the building. Walking Henry.”

Henry lifts his head at the mention of his name. I place my hand over the top of his head, scratching him between his ears as the events of this morning flash in my mind and Sebastian’s words ring in my head.

He can be Jesus himself for all I care. You’re not putting his shirt on.

How is it possible that man’s not even in the room, and he can make me squirm in my seat? I could still feel his hands roaming my skin. Feel the weight of his body pressing against mine. Hear his soft growl as he slid deep inside me.

I press my legs together, hoping to relieve the ache growing inside me, but it’s useless. I’m not sure if anything or anybody else will be able to relieve it. Only him.

“So he’s doing better. That’s amazing. There is nothing worse than when you’re sick,” Grace says.

Well, today, I’m burning for an entirely different reason.

Get a grip, girl!

“Umm, yeah,” I duck my head and start shoving my food around the plate. Anything so they don’t see the blush spreading over my cheeks. “And he offered to take Henry out so I could get ready for classes.”

“What I found interesting is that he took him outshirtless,” Jade smirks.

Her words take a moment to register, but when they do, my head snaps up.

“He did what?”

After complaining about me wearing Emmett’s shirt, he thought it would be good to let my dog out without a top? Is he for real?

“Mhmm… and I know I brought him one. Makes me wonder why he was in your apartment shirtless.”

My palms turn sweaty at the sudden change in the conversation. She couldn’t know, could she? Was there something different about me that screamed, ‘Look, I just had sex!’ It seemed like such a cliché, but maybe I was wrong.
