“But you’re the only one who can touch it,” he whispers, his hand covering mine. “All of this, just yours.”

“It better be.”

“Trust me, I don’t have any interest in anybody else.”

“Five minutes!” somebody yells from the hallway, startling me.

“Fuck,” Sebastian groans. “I swear I can’t wait for us to get back home so I can have some much-needed uninterrupted time with you.”

A smile spreads over my lips. It was nice hearing him say those words. Home. Blairwood has become a home for him too. I wasn’t sure where that was going to lead us or what our future holds, but it was a beginning, and I was excited to find out.

“I guess I should leave you to get ready and find my seat? Where is Brianna? Can she…”

I start to turn around, but Sebastian tugs me back into his chest. “You missy aren’t going anywhere.”

“I’m not?” I pull my brows together, unsure of where he’s going with this.

“Nope, tonight you have a front-row seat, just by the stage.”

The…

“You want me to stand by the stage?” I ask, my voice coming out louder than intended.

“Yes, by the stage,” Sebastian chuckles. “It’s definitely the best place in the whole stadium.”

Sebastian drops his hands, taking my free one in his, and together, we make our way toward the stage through a maze of corridors.

“You think you’re ready?” I ask, changing the subject.

“Yeah, it’s been a hot minute, but it almost feels like riding a bike.”

“I’ll take you for your word.”

I can hear the yelling of the crowd as the performer finishes their set. Just the thought of having to go out there and sing for all these people makes my stomach twist in a dozen tight knots.

“Bri, can you make sure Penelope’s okay?”

“You know it,” she calls out from behind me.

“I don’t need a babysitter. I’m sure she has more important things to do.”

“Don’t you understand?” Sebastian’s hand slips underneath my chin. “Nothing will ever be more important than you. Nothing.”

Warmth spreads through my belly at his words. Sebastian leans down, his mouth capturing mine. I lift on my toes and lean closer, my hand resting on his chest as I kiss him back, enjoying every slow swipe of his mouth over mine.

“Sixty seconds!”

Reluctantly, I pull back and give him a little push in the chest. “Go and break a leg.”

Sebastian bursts into laughter, “That’s theater.”

The music dies down in the stadium, and I can feel chills of excitement run down my spine.

“It’s art.”

I’m just about to take a step back when he sweeps me closer and kisses me once again, quickly, and runs out onto the stage, leaving me breathless. He, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have the same problem because he greets the crowd and goes straight into one of his most popular songs,Devil’s My Friend, without missing a beat.

I sing softly along, the lyrics as familiar as any song I’ve ever written, not that I’d ever tell him that out loud. The man was full of himself as it was.
