“He’s amazing, isn’t he?” Brianna yells after a while, trying to be heard over the loud music coming from the stage.

I’ve been to a few concerts in the past. Hell, I even stood on stage and played—minuscule compared to this, but a stage nonetheless—but I’ve never been backstage during a concert, and the feeling was completely overwhelming. The sounds seemed more intense. The constant moving of the crew as they worked and made the experience possible for the fans is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed.

“He is,” I agree, a smile curving my lips as he hits the note just right, making goosebumps appear on my skin. “He’s so freaking talented.”

He is, but he’s also so much more.

He’s an amazing human being, and I wasn’t sure a lot of people could see that. That he lets them see that side of him.

“Don’t tell him that. It’ll most likely get to his head,” Brianna chuckles.

“Oh, I know. I pretended that I didn’t know who he was when we just met.”

Brianna gasps, “You did not.”

“Oh, yes, I did.”

It was hard to believe that it’s only been a little over three months. It felt like a lifetime. I’m not sure when it happened, but Sebastian has become such an essential part of my life, and I couldn’t imagine my life without him in it.

It should scare me.

This effect he had on me.

This need to be close to him.

But it didn’t, because I was so damn in love with him.

Not just that, when I was with him, I felt safe and loved.

I wanted to tell him. No, Ineededto tell him. Maybe not tonight. Tonight was about him getting back the thing he loves most, but soon.

I will tell him soon.

I continue singing softly as the song changes to an older one when I hear Brianna curse loudly.

“What?” I turn around so I can hear her better. “What’s going on?”

“There is some issue in the back,” she mutters, clearly unhappy about the whole thing. “I’m sorry, but that really needs my attention. I know I promised Bash I wouldn’t let you out of my sight…”

“Go,” I say before she can even finish. “I’ll be okay here.”

“Are you sure? I really hate leaving you alone.”

“I’ll be fine, really. He should be done with his set soon, anyhow. Go. Put out the fires. That’s your job. I don’t need a babysitter. I’ll just stay here and wait for Sebastian to be done.”

I found it cute that he wanted me to have somebody so I wouldn’t get lost, or you know, trip on something, but I wasn’t about to get in the way of his assistant doing her job. After all, that’s what he was paying her for.

“Thanks, Penny! I’ll try to get back as soon as I can.”

“No rush.”

Turning back to the stage, I lean in my chair and let myself enjoy the music as one song switches to the next. I hum gently along, fully immersed in his music.

Unable to sit still, I slide off the chair. I was so ready for the show to be over so I could wrap my hands around him and kiss him. Okay, and maybe a little bit more than just kissing him.

Sue me.

As the song comes to an end, I take a step closer to the stage just as Sebastian’s voice spreads through the stadium.
