Wrong?

Abso-fucking-lutely nothing except the fact that she looks so damn tempting; it should be illegal.

“Nothing’s wrong with that except that it’s not going to work for what I have in mind tonight. You need to wear pants.”

Birdy opens her mouth, and I wait for the question, but before she can voice it out loud, she presses her lips together.

“Fine,” she finally agrees. “Wait here.”

Turning on the balls of her feet, she goes down the hallway. I watch as her hips sway easily, the hem of the skirt brushing against her pale thighs and making my throat go dry.

I rub my hand over my face stifling the groan when I hear the familiar growl. Letting my hand drop, I look down at Henry, who’s glaring at me, his teeth bare.

“You can’t blame me for watching, dude. Did you see how she looks?” I mutter, closing the door behind me.

I eye him carefully. “You won’t try to bite me if I enter?”

Great, and now I’m talking to a dog.

If possible, more of his teeth flash at me, but at least he doesn’t growl again. I take a step forward, keeping my attention on the dog as his eyes narrow even further.

“I’m just going inside, chill. I’m not planning to steal anything.”

I kind of expect him to jump at me, but he just watches me as I slowly make my way into the living room, taking in the space.

Birdy’s apartment is a mirror image of mine, but the place looks homier and cleaner. Much, much cleaner. There are throw pillows and a blanket folded over the back of the couch. A few photos are lined up on the console underneath the big TV. And candles. I can count at least half a dozen of them at first glance.

My eyes fall on the keyboard placed on the stand underneath the window, a pair of headphones resting on top of it.

What the…

I go to the keyboard, picking up one of the papers that are sitting on the music stand. It’s the same thick paper with little dots imprinted on it.

“Freaking liar,” I mutter, letting my fingers trace over the words. Or maybe notes?

Henry lets out a soft growl from beside me, so I turn to him. “What? You know I’m telling the truth. She might look all innocent, but your owner is one big-ass liar, mutt.”

“I didn’t realize my ass is that big, but then again, as we established, I can’t see so…”

I turn abruptly, only to find Birdy leaning against the doorway. The skirt is gone, and instead, she’s wearing a pair of skin-tight jeans and pink chucks. And is thatglitteron them?

“Your ass is looking just fine. It’s the liar part that you should be concentrating on.”

“What did I lie about?”

“I thought you said we have to use the music room, and yet I see that you own a fully functioning keyboard right here.”

A flush spreads over her cheeks, but she doesn’t back down. “That’s for me to play around, besides you need to put the headphones in. The last thing I need is for somebody to file a complaint because I’m being too loud.”

Once again, I let my eyes roam over her body as my mind comes up with all the different ways I can make her be loud.

Dirty, sinful ways to see how far that blush would spread over her skin.

“Too loud, you say?” I ask as I move closer.

Wondering what other secrets she was hiding beneath these prim and proper clothes and ribbons. Maybe she likes ribbons on her other garments too. Something that would be easy to tug and watch fall to the ground…

“Yes, too lou—” Her cheeks turn crimson, a color that almost matches her glitter shoes. Seriously, what’s the deal with those? “You’re the worst, Bash.”
