I’m not sure where the thought comes from; after all, what is it exactly that I know about him? He barely said two words to me about his life.

But he trusts you enough to tell you who he is. Trusts you enough to know you won’t betray him and tattle on him to the media.

“Up you go.”

Before I can even open my mouth, Sebastian’s hands land on my waist, and he hoists me up and onto the bike.

The moment he lets go, I brace my palms against the leather seat, my legs tightening around the sleek metal of the bike as I try to keep my balance.

Sebastian laughs at my display. “You good there, Birdy?”

“Please don’t let me fall,” I say, my voice coming out more high-pitched than usual.

“I’m not letting you fall,” Sebastian promises. “I’m going to put your visor down, okay?”

I nod my head. Not like it’ll make any difference. The visor falls in place, and then Sebastian’s hands cover mine. He gently unclasps them. “There are hand holders attached to the back.”

He places my palms on cool metal hand holders, my fingers wrapping around them instinctively.

As he pulls back, I can feel the air shift, and before I know it, Sebastian slides on the bike in front of me.

There is a loudclunk, the bike rising a little bit before it sinks down, along with my stomach.

Yelping softly in surprise, I let go of the handles, my arms going around Sebastian’s waist as my body slides closer to his, my front pressing against his back. I tighten my hold on him when the bike revs loudly as it comes to life, the engine vibrating between my thighs.

“Ready to go?” Sebastian asks, his voice as clear as day. It’s like he’s whispering in my ear.

“Y-yeah.”

His hand covers mine as he pulls me closer to him. I can feel his warm body pressed against mine, my legs wrapping around his strong thighs.

“Just hold on tight, and if you need anything like wanting to stop or need me to slow down, anything really, you just say the word, okay?”

“Yes.” I nod. “I got it.”

“Good.”

With that, he presses the gas, and the bike spurs to life. I let out a little scream in surprise, and Sebastian’s laughter echoes in my ears. I clench my arms around his waist to the point I’m pretty sure it’ll leave a mark, but I can’t help myself. There is no way I’m risking falling off this thing.

The bike gains speed quickly, the motor roaring louder as he gets out of the parking lot and onto the street, then everything feels like a blur.

My heart beats loudly, the sound echoing in my eardrums, mixing with the roar of the engine. I squeeze my eyes shut, my whole body enveloping Bash’s as he makes the motorcycle move faster.

Holy hell.

For a moment, I’m scared that he’ll crash us into something, but Bash drives the bike like he does everything else—with undeniable confidence and assurance. The longer we drive, the more relaxed I feel, and I can finally focus on other things. The noises from the ongoing traffic. The bite of the cold air even goes through the jacket I’m wearing. The feel of Sebastian’s hard body in front of mine. The sound of his soft breathing comes through the Bluetooth connection. The ease with which he drives the bike—his scent. Not nearly as intense as usual, but I can still smell it—pine and sandalwood, and something that’s uniquely Sebastian.

“You good?” Sebastian asks as we pull to a stop. His hand slides down the side of my legs, his fingers wrapping around my ankles, tickling my naked skin, and making goosebumps appear on my flesh.

“I…” I shake my head, not sure how to describe the mix of feelings building inside of me.

No, I wasn’t good. I was terrified and excited, and between the feel of his body, the bike purring underneath me, his hand touching me, and all the sounds, completely overstimulated.

“Birdy?”

“I’m good.”

“You don’t sound so sure.”
