“Good, and now we would be wise to take our leave,” Theo stated kissing Hailey’s cheek as he stood them up, settling her over in Stefano’s arms. “That is how it should always be, no matter if I am your grandfather or not, your wife should be in your arms, my son.”
“Ah but that is the demanding Greek in us Grandfather and I try not to be that when it comes to my dearest heart,” Stefano replied.
“I think that is one thing we have over the rest of the world my son; we know how to treasure that which we love. Do not be fooled that your sweet wife does not enjoy it just as much as you do. It is their nature to be a bit mysterious and coyly innocent, but it is the man’s job to ensure no other man takes or harms what is his, what she has willingly given,” Theo said, and Hailey kissed his cheek knowing she couldn’t agree more with him.
“We will see you later this week I am sure,” Stefano stated before showing the rest of the group out and pulling Hailey upstairs with him enticing her into bed.
She was awake, making love to Stefano when their alarm rang, telling them work was calling. She happily allowed him to carry her into the bathroom and wash her body thoroughly, his attention to her body and pleasure made the start of the day beyond everything she could recall, and they reached the office just as the clock switched over to eight.
“You’ll be late if you walk me to my office,” she warned him, but he didn’t listen, not that she thought he would, nor did she mind that he didn’t in the least.
“Welcome back Mrs. Jordan,” Elizabeth said giving her a smile and Hailey saw the new plaque outside her office.
“Did you do this?” Hailey asked looking up at Stefano with a grin.
“No but I should have,” he admitted. “We’ll need to get the changes made on your ids soon.”
“Already in the works, shouldn’t take long to sort it all out,” she replied earning herself a kiss that most of the office watched.
“I will do my best to arrange lunch for us, if I can’t, I will have Xavier let you know.”
“You will be under a mountain of paperwork I’m sure. As long as I have you to myself for ten minutes and a bite to eat, I will be fine,” she countered, and he gave her a smile that had her heart fluttering.
“Ten minutes is never enough time with you,agape mou. Don’t get too caught up that you forget to eat if I cannot meet you. Be sweet my darling,” he added with a last kiss before heading upstairs knowing if he stayed near her too much longer, he’d lose his control and take her home to reach heaven.
Hailey wasn’t surprised when Stefano apologized for only having thirty minutes for lunch and she had Xavier order them something they could eat in his office, redoing it again the next day and the next. It didn’t matter to her because at night when they were home, he focused on her, not the workload waiting for him in the office.
She stopped into the bathroom Wednesday afternoon, her stomach cramping and felt disappointed at the tinge of blood she came away with, she wanted Stefano’s child, but it seemed that wasn’t to happen yet. She didn’t want to think of it and pushed it aside until it was bedtime that night. She took out a nightgown and slipped into it before moving to the bed while Stefano used his own bathroom to get ready for bed.
He slid in beside her, reaching for her and his hand encountered her nightshirt, his brows furrowing in surprise. “What’s wrong my darling?”
“Nothing,” she said as he turned her onto her side to look at him.
“Nothing is wrong then why are you dressed? You’ve never come to bed in more than your robe since we’ve been married.”
“I think I’m starting my period. I know we hoped to be pregnant…”
“Shh, don’t worry my darling, it will happen when it’s meant to,” he whispered against her lips as he caressed her side. “Are you feeling alright otherwise? I know from my sister and others that there is a plethora of ailments that arise during this time.”
“Other than some cramps I’m fine,” she stated loving how sweet he was being towards her. “I haven’t fully started just some spotting and normally nothing pops up more than slight tenderness before then.”
“There is one option to ease your cramps my darling,” he said softly pulling her up against him.
“You can’t mean…what if we fall asleep and I do start tonight?” she asked her face flushed as her breasts swelled and her nipples hardened fully.
“It is a natural bodily occurrence my darling, any man who has issue with it does not deserve his woman. If you don’t feel comfortable making love to me tonight, I won’t push you, but I would never turn you down my angel, no matter what is going on,” he said and she covered his lips with hers, letting him love her because it eased the ache inside her that wanted to be carrying his child.
Stefano turned her to rest, her back against his chest and kissed the top of her head holding her close as her body came down from his loving. He rested a hand with hers against her heart and promised himself that he would give her space tomorrow night. He shouldn’t have pushed her tonight, but she’d looked so sad at the thought of not being pregnant with his child that he had to hold her close, love her, and show her that it wasn’t something to be ashamed of, never.
They would create a child, he was sure of it, and when they did, he would protect it and her with everything inside him.

nd where have you been?” Stefano asked surprising Hailey as she came back into her office just before four Friday afternoon.
“Spying on me now Husband?” she replied moving over to kiss his cheek knowing the group outside was there because he was in here.
