I watched him as he walked back and forth silently.

Abruptly, he stopped. “Get up. We’re going to have this little chat at Blackstone.”

At Blackstone? “But I—”

Drew held up his hand, cutting me off. “I’m intrigued to hear everything you have to say, little one. Every detail, every thought, every feeling you’ve had that’s led to you sitting on the sofa instead of being where you were supposed to be. Let’s go. I’ll drive.”

He reached his hand out and tugged me to my feet. “Where are your shoes?”

I was out of words. I pointed to a closet by the door.

“Good. Put on some shoes and a coat. Grab your keys.”

I followed his instructions. The butterflies flitted around my stomach. I should have been scared—maybe I was, to some degree. But I craved this—the stern Dom, calling me out when I messed up. Enforcing rules and, I was guessing, punishment.

At the door, Drew held his hand out for the keys. I dropped them in his large palm, the same one that would probably meet my ass soon. I swallowed.

Drew placed his hand on the small of my back, guiding me out the door. He closed and locked the door behind us, then slipped the keys into his pocket. At the Wrangler, he opened the passenger door, and all but shoved me inside.

I looked over at him when he climbed into the driver’s seat. “Drew? What are we…”

Drew shook his head. “Patience, kitten.”

I looked at my lap, then back at Drew. “Who’s doing singles night?” My voice came out sounding small. It reflected how I felt right now.

Drew kept his eyes on the road. “Cody. They’re in good hands.”

The drive to Blackstone seemed to go by much faster than usual, but my nerves may have played a large part in that.

Drew opened my door and led me to the front door. He turned to me. “Do you want to come in with me, kitten?”

I opened my mouth, but no words came out. For the first time in my life, I was nervous about entering the club. Because for the first time in my life, I had a Dom that was strict enough to call me on my bullshit. Enforce things. Punish me.

And for the first time in my life, I had a Dom that I was terrified to disappoint.

Drew tipped my chin up, forcing me to meet his eyes. “Here’s how this will go. I am planning to go in there and take you to a private room. There, we will discuss a few things. Things like responding to messages, being places you’ve said you’ll be as well as being on time, and attitude in general, to begin. I plan to punish you, kitten. I think you need it, and I think you crave it. And I think you want it from me.” He paused, letting his words sink in. “If I’m incorrect, tell me now.”

I swallowed hard. A shiver ran through me at his words, but it went straight to my core with a shot of heat. I wanted this from him. “No, Sir. You’re not incorrect.”

Drew nodded. “Then let me ask you this. Do you consent to enter the club with me, to go to a private space with me, and to trust me to dole out punishment as I see fit? I’ll respect your limits and safewords. Always. But I need to know that you consent to this.”

I did. I really, really did. But the idea of telling him about my job, what it could do to us, had tears pricking my eyes. “I do, Sir. I want all of that. I just don’t know how to tell you…” I stopped, unable to get the words past the lump in my throat.

Drew studied me for a minute. “Don’t worry, baby. I’ll help you get the truth out. Can you trust me?”

I nodded. I trusted him with my life.

“I need to hear it, little one.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Drew opened the door.

Drewplacedhishandon the small of my back. He walked me past Luke, at the desk, who only raised his eyes as we walked past. Drew kept going, through the doorway and into the hallway to the club. He paused there and nodded at a locker. “You know the drill.”
