Avery:Brax says we have to stay home.

Savannah:Pretty sure no one is going with the snowstorm.

I tossed the phone on the couch and sighed. It looked like I was stuck here alone with just my e-reader for company.

I peered outside again. The snow didn’t look too heavy, just falling lightly down. There wasn’t much accumulation yet. The roads were probably fine.

If I were the only sub at Blackstone, Drew would have to play with me. Right?

Before I could think better of it, I was getting dressed.

The storm was worse than I’d guessed from my safe, warm house. The roads were covered by the time I headed out, and it was a complete whiteout. I could barely see where I was going. My knuckles turned white as I clutched the steering wheel.

That I was driving my beat-up Corolla and not the work truck with its four-wheel-drive and sturdy tires definitely wasn’t helping things.

Finally—finally—I pulled into the parking lot at Blackstone. I let out a sigh of relief as I parked in what I hoped was a spot. The snow had built up even more during the drive, now almost six inches deep and hiding all the painted lines that designated each spot.

There was one other vehicle in the lot—an older blue Jeep Wrangler.

Drew’s car.

I took a deep breath and headed to the door, picking my way through the snow. My feet were blocks of ice when I finally made it to the entryway. I grabbed the handle, ready to kick off my shoes and warm up.

Locked.

Locked?

I knocked on the door, then hit the doorbell, then again, this time a double tap. It was cold out here, dammit.

It seemed like forever before the door swung open. Drew stood there, unsmiling.

“What are you doing here?” Drew’s stern voice had me cringing and rethinking this entire plan.

“Well, it’s Friday night? I figured lots of us come on Fridays.”

“Not during a blizzard, Emma. It’s not safe out there. Especially in that tin can you drive.” He gestured to my beat-up Corolla.

My car was just fine, thank you. But I could read his mood already. “Fine, then. I’ll just go.” I whirled around, my teeth chattering in the icy wind.

“Hold it.”

I froze in place, the submissive in me responding to his commanding voice.

“It’s not safe driving anywhere tonight. You’re stuck here until the snow lets up. Now, let’s head inside and we can have a littlechatabout your decision making.” Drew held the door open.

With the snow pelting my face with tiny ice-daggers, I really had no other option. I ducked inside and followed Drew past the desk in the lobby and down the locker hallway.

He didn’t look at me until we reached the couches in the main club area. He pointed to one. “Sit.”

I sank onto the couch. He stood above me, almost more intimidating than usual.

“Why are you here, Emma? What on earth made you decide to drive out here in this weather? I’m sure you knew others were staying home tonight. You’re in contact with everyone. So what’s the real reason?” Drew paced in front of me as he spoke.

I crossed my arms, jutting my chin out. I was stuck here, and he was stuck with me. It was now or never. “Maybe I came to see you.”

Drew raised his eyebrow in that move that Doms seem to be born with. “Go on.”

I drew in a deep breath. “You’ve never played with me. You always find a reason it’s not the right time. I’ve scened with so many of the Doms here, and they can’t give me what I need. You can, I can just tell. So, I thought if I was one of the only ones here, you’d choose me.” I chewed on my lower lip as I waited for his reply.
