She turned and saw Silas come closer, wearing dark gray joggers and a long sleeved fitted black t-shirt.

“I couldn’t.”

Stepping in front of her, he cupped her face with one hand, gently running his thumb over her cheek.

“No one will ever hurt you again.”

“That doesn’t help the past.”

She tried to turn away, but he had none of that. With his free hand, he took hers, holding onto her jaw tighter. He wasn’t hurting her, just showing her he didn’t want her to turn away.

“Stay with us, and we’ll help you forget those memories.”

She laughed sadly. “You holding someone’s beating heart in your hands will always be stuck in my head.”

“I don’t regret it.”

“I’m not saying that.”

“Will you stay though?”

His thumb moved down to her lips, tracing over them. He was much calmer than what she was used to. Though now, he was much more dominant.

“Please stay.” Rayen moved into view, standing next to Silas and taking her other free hand. “We would love for you to live with us again. The room upstairs is all yours or you can have the apartment again. As long as you’re close, we’re happy.”

She sighed and pulled away from Silas’s hand on her cheek. This time he let her go, though he held on tighter to her hand.

“I don’t know.”

Movement behind them both made her look past them, her gaze falling on Amon. She couldn’t help but picture living with him again. Would he be as cold as he used to be, or would she see more of what she’d seen yesterday?

Rayen followed her gaze. “Amon wants you to stay too.”

Silas stepped aside, glaring at Amon with dark angry eyes. “Tell her! Tell her how much you want her to stay, how you missed her every second of the day after you sent her away.”

She couldn’t imagine that to be true. She had no trouble believing either Rayen or Silas that they wanted her here, but Amon was a whole different story.

Silas started growling. “Open your fucking mouth and tell her how much you want her here.”

Rayen stepped closer to her, his fingers running through her hair. “He really does want you to stay, but it’s hard for him to talk about his feelings.”

Amon took a deep breath, his rigid features gently softening. “I would prefer if you stayed with us, Gwendoline.”

Her knees threatened to cave as he drew out her name to be longer than usual. The fact alone that he used it, yet again, made her heart flutter.

Silas’s chest rumbled against her arms as he leaned closer to run his nose up her jawline. “See we all want you here. Judging by how you react to Amon and how you don’t pull away from Rayen or me, you can’t say you don’t want to be with us either.”

She sighed. It was true–she wanted to be with them. “It’s not that easy.”

“We’ll make it easy, tell us what isn’t working, and we’ll change it,” Silas hummed seductively, his lips barely stroking her neck.

“I have to get back to work Monday.”

“We’ll provide for you. No need to work anymore, Gwen.”

She wanted to object, but Rayen was faster. “You can use any of the cars, or we can drive you.”

“You pushed me away.”
