Half an hour later I’d reserved the Davenport Grand Penthouse Suite for Zayne and two ladies. Alcohol, food, and plenty of toys would be waiting for him when he arrived. Jamie and Nicky would take damn good care of him, too.

I stretched out on the couch again, my thoughts reeling with what to do about Tim. If he suspected me, he didn’t show any signs. Well, other than his armed men following my every move.

Stifling a yawn, I realized that I was alone for the second time since River had been taken. Finally, the silence lulled me into a restless sleep.

“What are they talking about?”

I peeked through the crack of the door and slapped a hand over the mouth of the faceless kid next to me. I held a finger up, hushing them. If we got caught, we’d get our asses beat. Again.

A man lifted the woman’s dress, his hand disappearing between her parted thighs. She moaned and sank her teeth into her red-painted lip.

“Are you ready?” the guy growled, the bulge in his slacks growing.

“Yes,” she panted.

He snapped his fingers. Seconds later, a muscular young man with light scruff on his face showed up and dropped to his knees. He buried his head between the woman’s legs. Her back arched as the man unzipped his pants and grabbed his dick in his hand, stroking himself as the woman moaned.

She lowered the front of her dress, revealing her tits. The young man on the floor began rolling her nipples between his fingertips.

“Hurry up, boy.” The man growled at him. “It’s my turn.”

“Oh, yes, Robert. You know I love to watch him suck you off.” She jerked the young man by his hair and pulled his head away from her glistening pussy. “I’ll be waiting.” She winked at him.

He crawled on the floor, his shoulders down as if the shame was too much to bear. The man jerked the guy by his arm, then forced him on his knees and demanded he open his mouth.

I scrambled backward, tugging the shirt of the faceless person next to me.

“Holden?” his voice was full of fear.

“Shut the fuck up,” I snarled. “We aren’t supposed to see this.”

Groans and moans of pleasure escaped the room as I stood and tiptoed down the hall, the faceless kid right behind me.

What the hell had I just seen?

A small hand took mine. “I’m scared.”

“It’s okay. Let’s go back to bed. We’ll be safe there.”

I landed on the floor with a thud, the impact jerking me out of my dream. My breaths came in short, jagged bursts, and sweat trickled down my forehead. Realizing that my entire body was trembling, I swallowed, attempting to calm my galloping heartbeat. Nausea rocked my stomach, and I remained still until I was sure I wasn’t about to puke everywhere.

What the hell was that? I stood slowly and grabbed the arm of the couch, testing my balance.

The door opened, and Jace entered the house, freezing in place the second he saw me.

“Dude, are you okay?”

Chapter Twenty-Eight

I shook my head. “Can you bring me some water?”

Jace hurried to the kitchen, then over to the couch where I’d finally had the good sense to sit down. I took the glass from him and sipped the cool liquid, unsure if my stomach would rebel.

“You’re not as pale.” Jace’s intense gaze remained on me as I took another drink. “What happened?”

I swallowed a few times. “A nightmare.” My voice was hoarse, scratchy, and sounded strange to my own ears.

“Must have been one fucked up dream. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you like this.”
