Now Jo is living with the girls in a fourteen-bedroom house with plenty of room for the girls, and there is always healthy food.

We are currently planning a sweet sixteen party for eight of the girls.

Their birthdays are all months apart, but Jo wants to throw one massive party for the girls to celebrate this huge milestone in their lives.

My thoughts were interrupted when a cup of coffee is placed down on the table.

I was expecting a server; I was not expecting an older man, mid-forties, dressed in a suit to sit across from me.

I have never seen him before, and the lack of a friendly smile tells me he isn't looking to hit on me.

Warning bells start to go off in my mind, and instinctively I pull my phone closer to me.

"Can I help you?" I ask first.

He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a folded badge.

"Special Agent John Miller with the FBI. I was hoping to speak with you for a moment."

It is only a matter of time before a federal agent or local police show up to speak with me.

I have been prepped on what to say since I was a little girl.

My father has been careful enough growing up that he never attracts the attention of anyone within law enforcement.

Now, six weeks after making a partnership with the mafia, someone from the FBI is sitting across from me.

I mean, that has to be a record.

"In regards to?"

Not like I don't already know, but most people, especially men, see me and figure I am an idiot.

Playing dumb will work in my favor.

"We have surveillance photos of your father with the head of the Italian mafia, Riccardo Giovanni. Word is that you are about to marry Anthony Giovanni, the next in line for the throne. I've done my research on you. You're a good woman, a good person. You have never been arrested or in trouble with the law. You work with various charities and raise a lot of money for those in need. So help me understand how someone like you agrees to marry the son of Satan."

Hearing a federal agent calling my future husband the son of Satan does nothing to ease my fears and concerns.

I have tried to do some research on my future family, but I can't seem to find anything on them, not even a photo.

I have to give it to them; they are good.

"I'm still not sure why you are here, Agent Miller."

"Because I suspect that you don't actually want to marry Giovanni. For whatever reason, most likely money, your father is making you marry the man. I'm offering you a way out of a loveless and highly dangerous marriage."

"And in order to get this golden ticket, all I have to do is be your informant and gather intel that you can use to shut them down. Sound about right?"

"And testify after the arrests have been made. You will then be placed in witness protection where you can start your new life free from all of this. All you have to do is play along, and before you know it, you can have your dream life."

What a snake oil salesman.

Does he actually think I won't know how this will all play out?

That I will believe this bullshit.

Witness protection from the mafia is not like what is displayed in movies.
