My thoughts begin to feel like reality, and panic sets in at visions of her dead body floating up a stream.

Time seems to drag on endlessly as I wait for Lorenzo to call me back.

I run my fingers through my hair, frustration simmering beneath the surface.

My dominant nature wants to take control of this situation, but I'm powerless without information.

Finally, after three agonizing hours, my phone rings.

I grab it with a shaking hand, answering before it even has a chance to ring twice.

"Lorenzo? What do you know?"

"Anthony, I have some intel," he says, his tone serious.

"Damon Atwell has been spotted around town and on the outskirts of Montana. He was last seen near a gas station off the highway and is suspected to have shot an attendant."

"Son of a bitch," I growl, clenching my fists.

The thought of someone like Atwell getting anywhere near Diana makes my blood boil.

But as desperate as I am, I feel something changing within me.

It's as if a switch has been flipped, trading my desperation for determination.

I will find her.

I will do whatever it takes to bring her back home safely.

"Anthony, we need to act fast," Lorenzo says, urgency seeping into his voice.

"There's more. Wait. Open your email."

My heart races as I download the files Lorenzo pulled out from security.

I zoom in and see each one showing Diana and an FBI agent speaking at a small café near her father's office.

The time stamp on the photos reveals it was just a few days before our wedding.

"Who is this guy?" I demand, my voice shaky and desperate for answers.

"His name's Agent John Miller," Lorenzo replies.

"He's been working on our case for years, but we've never been able to pin anything on him... until now."

"What do you mean?" I ask, my eyes scanning the photos, trying to find any clue that could lead me to Diana.

"From what we've gathered, it seems like he's been feeding information to the hitman, Damon Atwell. They've been in contact for months – maybe even years," Lorenzo says, his face contorted with disgust.

"How can you be sure?" I need to know the truth.

"Miller has been seen meeting with Atwell multiple times, exchanging envelopes, probably containing intel on our family. We also traced some of the payments to offshore accounts under false names. We believe he's corrupt, and using his power for money."

"Son of a bitch," I mutter under my breath, clenching my fists in anger.

My jaw tightens as the realization sinks in – Diana might have unknowingly put herself in danger by reaching out to this man.

"Anthony," Lorenzo says, "We don't know if she knew about his connection with Atwell.
