“You’re not in charge anymore, Snow.” I let her call the shots the first time we fucked, but this one’s all me.

“Show me what you got,” she says mockingly.

Leaning in close to her ear, I tell her, “Don’t talk.”

“Why?”

Goddamn it.

“Because you’ve got a cop watching your house.”

“Officer Manning’s too far away to hear anything.”

She knows he’s there? And his name?

I pull back, trying to read her eyes. Other than the color—Globe Thistle at dusk—I can’t make out anything.

“Why’s Officer Manning outside your house?” I bite out.

Those grayish-blue eyes go lax just like they did when she was talking to Phil outside The Pen, right before I jumped him from behind and broke the hand he was touching Lex with. He didn’t know it was me. Without my mask, I had to use my shirt to cover my face, but he was so dopey-eyed after his interaction with Lex, he never even saw me coming.

Before she can get too far into her victim-act, I say, “Cut the bullshit, Lex.”

Blowing out a breath, she pushes some wet strands over her shoulder. “It’s in case the burglars return.” She adds an eyebrow arch that I don’t take personal.

Yeah, I returned, but I’m as alone now as I was before. And I’m not here to steal anything that isn’t already mine.

“The driveway’s not the only way up here.” Me standing here is proof of that.

“If Officer Manning was good at his job, he wouldn’t be on babysitting duty, now would he?”

“Did Kordin hire him?”

She shakes her head, but glances away. “No, it’s standard protocol after a home invasion.”

“Hollows,” I sneer.

Still focused on the floor, she shrugs and says, “We like our possessions,” like she’s actually one of them.

Using my fist, I lift her chin, bringing her attention back to me. I pull her top over her head, letting it fall from my hands to the floor as I take in every inch of her naked torso. Shoulders back, Lex’s thin frame stands tall, not shrinking from my gaze whatsoever. Her small, perky tits come to enticing stiff peaks I could hold on to while hammering into her from behind.

I guide her shorts off her hips, down her thighs until they pool at her feet, then help her step out of them one foot at a time before standing back up. The only other color in this room besides the clothes on my body are her two delicate tattoos and the V of material covering her pussy.

“I like mine, too,” I tell her, eyes still roaming all the porcelain skin before me.

“I’m not your possession.”

I stop my perusal to lean in until my forehead almost touches hers. One hand at the base of her skull, I grasp the roots and angle her head so she’s looking up at me.

“I wasn’t talking about you.”

On a moan, Lex’s hands come up to cup my cheeks, then both her thumbs stab between my lips, making a tear in the mask’s fabric. I let my jaw go slack, so she can split the hole wider, just enough to expose my mouth.

Our mouths race to meet each other’s, a collision of lips and tongue and frenzied need. Each time she tries to take control, I reposition her head and go a little deeper so it’s me kissing her. At the cemetery, she wanted me to kiss her and I did, I kissed her and kissed her and kissed her, not once asking for more, but now, I’m fucking her mouth with mine and I’m not asking for anything. I’m motherfucking taking.

With her preoccupied, I grab a handful of her thong and rip it right off her body.

Breaking the kiss, she says, “Those cost two hundred dollars.”
