Kissing his shoulder tenderly, she smiled as he turned his head and captured her lips in a kiss, her hands continuing their movements. Moving her arms under his, she ran her hands over his stomach, loving the feel of him. She slowly moved them down to capture him in her hands. Dean moaned as she continued her massage on him.

Blinking with a bit of surprise, I admitted to myself that I liked where this book was headed. No wonder women read books like this. They were sexy in all the best ways. As I continued to read, I absently answered my cell phone. “Yeah, Leo, what’s up”

“You have some embarrassing ringtone for me, don’t you? That’s how you always know it’s me.”

“It’s also called Caller ID.”

“Yeah, but you sound distracted which tells me you didn’t even look when you answered.”

I chuckled as I put my tablet down. Leo Zima was one of my best friends and had known me forever. He was also head of the Zima crime family but that was a topic that was left unspoken. “You know me so well. What’s going on?”

“Thinking about visiting one of the rooms this evening. Been a stressful week and with it being that irritating Valentine’s Day holiday, I think a visit is just what I need.”

“I have dinner with Candace tonight. I was planning on maybe heading up after. Any particular room interest you?”

“Not yet. I still can’t believe you married that woman. She’s older than you and is a cold, calculating bitch.”

“One that even her daughter cut ties with.”

“Wait, she has a child? You’re a stepdad?” Leo laughed.

“Har har, asshole. Candace had her at sixteen and they haven’t been in contact with each other since Perie graduated three years ago.”

“I think if her child wants nothing to do with her, that should tell you all you need to know. I know you want this merger to happen but I worry that it’ll end up hurting your company, not helping it to grow. Be cautious and if you need help call me.”

“I will. Thanks, Leo.”

“I’ll let Ezra know you might meet up with me tonight. Dev mentioned Lora had a performance but they might make an appearance afterwards. I haven’t heard from the haloed one himself, though.”

“I think Luc said something about a road trip. So who do you think will be the next to fall?” I smirked as he laughed in response.

“You’ve seen the women in my world, who do you think?”

“I dunno. Isn’t your family still trying the arranged marriage thing with you?”

I couldn’t stop the laugh that escaped as I heard his loud groan. “Don’t remind me. I’ll see you later, Alice. Remember, stay away from talking, creepy cats.”

“At least my theme song isn’t the cowardly lion.” I laughed as I hung up before he had a chance to reply. Looking at the clock, I had time before I had to leave and I wanted to get back to this book.

Perie

Soft Arabian music floated through my house as I prepared for my bath. I was rather nervous about the Valentine’s Day Charity Auction I promised to attend so I’d decided to relax before I got ready. Candles flickered softly in the room as the gentle aroma of vanilla filled the air. Slowly I climbed into the steaming bath, lowering myself into the water as bubbles caressed my skin.

Closing my eyes I completely immersed myself in the relaxing warmth. Minutes passed. How many I couldn’t say as I lost myself to the music, the softness, and the warmth. I opened my eyes slowly as a gentle smile touched my lips. Reaching over, I grabbed the jar of sugar wash. It was a decadent product that gave me that extra bit of something when I had to deal with people.

The music that filled the bathroom weaved its magic as I opened the container. I held the jar up to my nose as my body moved ever so softly to the music. Placing the lid aside, I reached into the container. My senses soaked up the feel of the oils and the sugar, the aroma of vanilla, almond, and citrus tickled my senses as the lyrical sounds continued to fill the air.

As I massaged the oils and sugar gently into my skin, my eyes remained all but closed, my body continuing its dance to the music. The oils caressed my breasts, stomach, and down my legs. Every bit of my skin was caressed as the decadent feel of the oils, the aromas of my bath, the softness of the candles, and the warmth of the water all joined with the music to make me feel soft and beautiful.

As the last of the sugar was rinsed away I stepped out of the bath and gently dried myself. The towel was hung to dry as I dressed in the sheerest of lavender undergarments. My eyes closed to the final sounds of the music.

As I softly hummed and danced to the next song, I went into my closet and put on the red dress I’d gotten for the evening. If I was doing this, I was going to give myself every confidence boost I could. Before I could take care of my hair and makeup I heard a loud knock on my front door.

With a puzzled look on my face, I looked out the peephole and saw two policemen out front. I opened the door but kept the chain lock on, a woman living alone could never be too sure. “Can I help you?”

“Peridot Winters?”
