“Now, that there, would be a first.” He laughs at me as I take the hat off his head and place it on my own, then pushing hard on Wade’s shoulders I make sure he drops back down onto the sleeping mat he’s got laid out on the floor.

He hooks his fingers into the loops of my jeans, using them to drag me onto his face so he can kiss me through the denim. Deciding I need more, I pop open the button and help him drag them, and my panties down to my ankles. Wade’s fingers crush my bare ass-cheeks as he holds me tight against his mouth, flicking my clit with his tongue and making my nails dig into the bark of the tree as the pleasure in my stomach starts to build. I moan desperately when he slips a finger inside me and starts fucking me with it to the same rhythm his tongue makes.

“I want this pussy soaking my cock.” He looks up at me while his finger continues to work inside me, and when I nod back at him, he quickly takes his cock out of his jeans, pumping it through his fist as I lower myself to straddle him.

The tip of it brushes between my folds as he jacks himself off. I love the way teases me, despite how desperate we both are. His pre-cum, mixes with my own pleasure as he circles my entrance with his thick head, and I watch his handsome face tense as he finally pushes it inside me. I want to ride him hard and fast, but I also want to appreciate him, and since I’m the one in control I decide that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Wrapping my hands around the back of his head I lean my body back and slowly ride his cock, feeling every bump and ridge of it stroke inside me. Wade keeps one hand on my hips while the other slides up my body, clenching around one of my tits as I rotate my hips slowly against him.

“Tell me you love me. Leia,” he manages, his fingers tensing against my flesh. “I know I hurt you, and I don’t deserve it, but I can’t stand the thought of you hating me.” His hand turns much softer as it slides up my neck and cradles my cheek, while his thumb strokes over my bottom lip.

“I love you,” I tell him when the hurt in his eyes makes me want to cry. He drags my face closer to his so he can kiss me, and it doesn’t matter that we’re out in the open, or at risk of being caught, we take our time because this feels too fucking good to rush.

“You want some breakfast?” I ask, pulling my jeans on and placing Wade’s hat back on his head.

“You think that's a good idea?” He looks at me doubtfully.

“Caleb has a full schedule today, it’s all he talks about. Stan Finchley being out is really taking its toll on him.

“Shame.” The way Wade shrugs and smirks at the same time while he fixes his belt buckle makes me curious.

“You didn’t have anything to…? Don’t answer that.” I shake my head and decide to block that suspicion out of my head. What I don’t know can’t hurt me.

“So, what ya cookin’?” Wade takes my hand and picks up his rifle.

“I’m thinkin’ I’ll fix you up some eggs, maybe some fresh coffee.” I kiss his cheek and lead him toward the house. When we get there Wade props his rifle up against the kitchen wall and takes a seat at the table. It’s far too early for me to be thinking about eating but I know it’s a regular thing for Wade, so I get straight to work.

“You not having any?” he asks when I eventually put the plate in front of him.

“No, I’m gonna watch you eat and pretend this is our lives.” I sit opposite him and balance my chin on my hand as I stare across the table at him dreamily. I need moments like this to keep me fighting when he’s not around.

“And this is what you want, you makin’ me breakfast every morning?” He scoffs a laugh as he shovels a fork full of eggs inside his mouth.

“What can I say? I’m a simple woman.” I shrug, then start to giggle when he grabs at my wrist and drags me across the table so I'm sitting on his lap.

“Then I must be a simple man too.” He kisses me before he eats the rest of his breakfast one-handed, so his arm can remain wrapped around me.

“How bout I give ya a day off once a week? I’ll make you breakfast in bed every Sunday, before church,” he tells me when he’s done, and although I smile at the thought, it only reminds me of another problem we’ll face.

“You know when all this is over, the town is gonna talk. It won’t be easy for us, or my family.” I have no idea what Wade has planned to get me away from Caleb, but whatever happens is sure to provoke some kind of scandal, especially when we end up together.

“We can’t worry about what the town is gonna say, we have to focus on what’s important,” Wade tells me as I get off his lap and take his empty plate over to the sink. “It’ll be a little tough for a while, but—”

“And you’ll be able to live with it? Whatever it is you have to do?” I stare down into the sink and try to steady my hands when I think about it. I may not know much, but I do know that Carson men don’t make empty threats.

Wade steps up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder.

“He hurt you, he treated you bad, and he’s fuckin’ raping you. Ya think I’m gonna let that go unpunished? I’ll live with it just fine, Leia.”

I spin around in his arms and play with the button on his shirt to avoid having to look up at him. If I do he’ll see the tears in my eyes and think that they’re for Caleb.

“Just be careful, I don’t wanna lose you again, and I sure as hell don’t want to have to visit you in prison.” I look up at him through my lashes.

“Why do you think he’s still alive?” he questions me. “Why do you think I’ve slept every night out there on the damn ground since I came back to fix this? Not being able to act is eating me up inside, leaving you here with him drives me fuckin’ crazy.”

“I’m fine, I told you I can be strong.”

“You shouldn’t have to be.” He shakes his head like he’s disappointed in himself.
