"Honeysuckle in mason jars on each table will bring the aroma up to the house."

He put his arm around her shoulders and squeezed her to his body. "That's a great idea."

She giggled lightly. The sound of his dad's truck approaching drowned her out, and they turned to face the oncoming vehicle.

He chuckled. "Here we go."

Her arm wrapped around his waist from the back, and she squeezed him tightly, then dropped her arm. Reassurance. She was reassuring him. His heart swelled.

He took her hand as he walked toward his parents. His mom stepped to him and wrapped him in a big hug. His mom's hugs had a way of soothing him when he was younger. It was the same now as he embarked on this big purchase.

His dad clapped him on the back and husked, "Don't go hogging him, Luna."

His mom giggled and stepped back. His dad wrapped him in a bear hug, and he heard his mom introduce herself to Everleigh.

His dad whispered, "It's so nice to see you, son."

"It's great to see you, Dad."

He stepped back and looked at Everleigh. "Everleigh, this is my dad, Hawk. I see you've met my mom, Roxanne."

"Yes. It's nice to meet you Mr. De..."

"Hawk. Just Hawk. It's nice to meet you too, Everleigh."

"Hawk." Her cheeks turned an adorable shade of pink.

Zander's car finally rolled up the driveway, and he grinned and swallowed. It was go time.

Zander made his way to them and introduced himself. "What do you want to see first, the house or the barns?"

He glanced down at his mom. "House please." She glanced at him and smiled.

Zander walked ahead of them, he held his hand out to Everleigh to precede him. His mom stepped in with Everleigh and his dad grabbed his nape and squeezed affectionately.

"Are you excited about this, Henry?"

He laughed. "I'm so fucking excited, Dad. It's been back and forth really, excitement and fear but the past few hours, it's been pure excitement."

His dad chuckled. "Good."

They climbed the steps to the porch and Zander unlocked the door. He turned and looked out at the pasture area where Everleigh had pointed earlier. He could see the horses in the pasture from this spot.

His eyes sought hers and she grinned and nodded.

They stepped back in time when they entered the house. Everyone stood in a state of bewildered silence. "Mr. DeWitt didn't believe in updating the furniture or the home. Look at the woodwork, it's all original." Zander commented.

His mom laid her hand on the newel post at the bottom of the stairs and tried to shake it. It stood firm against her motions, and she exclaimed, "Wow."

He stepped forward into the living room and stared at the antique furniture. "Look at all of the antiques."

Zander piped up then. "He says you can purchase whatever you want. He obviously has no need for it. His daughter took everything she wanted already, so what's in here is available."

"Oh, Henry, this is fantastic." His mom sighed. She ran her hand over an antique sofa. She looked across the room at the other antique pieces. Henry turned to see his dad's eyes watching his mom and he chuckled. Mom and Dad were going to be going home with some antiques.

Zander continued on, "Let's go see the kitchen."

Henry glanced at Everleigh and saw her watching his mom. She turned her face up to him and smiled. "I think she approves." Her smile was radiant and his excitement changed to something different.
