He stood and pulled the curtains back, his eyes exploring the entire parking lot. When he turned back to her, he inhaled deeply as he stepped closer. He pulled her into a hug, and she needed that. Really needed it. Her arms circled his body, his warm skin was a balm against hers. She pulled him as close as she could. His arms wrapped her tightly, his strength evident and needed.

"I won't let anything happen to you. For right now, I'm jumping in the shower. Don't go near the window, don't open the door for anyone."

"Okay."

"Promise."

"I promise."

He kissed the top of her head and disappeared into the bathroom, but he left the door open. She listened to him shower and imagined running soapy hands over every muscle. Big mistake. She needed her head straight. Today was the big day in negotiations.

Henry stepped from the bathroom, a white towel over his right shoulder, the end of the towel rubbing his hair dry.

She inhaled. "Do you think I should ignore what he did last night or let him know, we know, and address it?"

Henry moved and sat at the foot of the bed next to her. He turned slightly so he faced her and took her right hand in his. "I say, we go up and see what the mood is today. He's unpredictable. And, by unpredictable, I mean, unpredictable. You never know from one minute to the next when he'll explode. So, let's go up and sit down. Myles and I will be there. The sheriff will be close as well. My GHOST teammates will also be around, hidden in the shadows. There isn't one of them who wouldn't love a shot at Craig. So, it's no skin off anyone's nose to get into it with Craig. I'd bet my left nut, they're hoping they can take a shot at him."

She stared into his beautiful eyes and smiled. "I'd hate for you to give up a nut."

His laugh started deep in his chest and bubbled up through his throat. It was deep, and throaty, and incredibly sexy. She couldn't help smiling as she listened to his laughter. He dropped onto his back on the bed and pulled her down on top of him. His hands cupped her face and held her close as he kissed her lips. She felt him grow rigid as she slowly, catlike slow, moved over his body and straddled him. They let their lips mingle and move and test and taste. She loved every minute of it.

She wore a pencil skirt which slid up her hips, and now bunched around her lower abdomen. His hands roamed down her back to her ass and squeezed her cheeks, then pushed her onto his rigid length. She lightly gasped as he pushed and pulled her and hit. That. Spot.

With a finger, he slid her panties to the side, lowered his boxer briefs, and slid inside of her with ease. She moaned. He felt fantastic. His length filled her completely. His body moved with hers in such a way it was as if they were made for each other. They were intuitive with each other. It was dizzying, and fantastic. And she wanted more.

She laid her hands on his shoulders, feeling the muscles beneath and reveled in feeling them bunch and move. For her. All for her.

His hands helped her ride him. Up and down as their pace increased she felt her orgasm blaze through her body like a raging inferno. She cried out his name and his response was to push into her body harder until his orgasm slammed through him. She watched his face as it did and it was a site to behold. She'd never watched a man in pleasure. This man, she'd watch him forever. He was beautiful.

Henry drove with a new determination to do his job to the best of his ability. He'd protect Everleigh with his very life.

Everleigh sat stiffly in the seat next to him. Her hands laid upon the notebook she carried and her laptop case underneath. Both of them were steeling themselves for what was to come. Both of them hoped it would be a surprise-free day.

His eyes darted to the mirror and Myles's truck behind them. Maya, Spencer, and Adelaide were already in place somewhere on the mountain. Tate was at headquarters, or the HOG, manning communications and at the ready should the sheriff be called. The sheriff had squads parked at the bottom of the hill so as not to irritate Craig by coming onto 'his' land. But they were ready if they were needed. Truth be told, his team would eradicate Craig long before the sheriff or his deputies could get half-way up the hill. They'd said so when they met earlier this morning.

He turned a corner and where normally there'd be guards on the road, none were visible. He had a communication unit in his ear and tapped it.

"No guards on the road."

"Copy." Myles replied. A few seconds later, Spencer, Maya, and Addy replied similarly.

He moved past the point where guards usually stood, his eyes peeled for any movement coming from the woods. Nothing. That set his nerves on high alert.

Tapping his comm unit to mute sound he said, "Remember, we aren't together. I'm your bodyguard. You're doing a job. I don't want him getting wind that you can be used for leverage."

"I got it."

He nodded slightly and tightened his hold on the steering wheel. Rounding another corner, he saw the first little cabin of many. He wasn't sure who lived in that one, they were dotted here and there up here. Anywhere there was a flat spot. The road became rockier, the truck bounced and rocked as he moved over the terrain.

Addy commented on the comm units, "Craig just walked out to their community gathering place or whatever they call it. He's sitting at a table to one end of the space. Right now, he's alone."

Tapping his unit, he replied. "Roger."

He stopped at a point the road no longer allowed passage and turned to Everleigh. "We'll have to walk from here. Stay close to me. Within reaching distance."

"Okay."
