Her eyes widened. “You’re planning a next time?”

“Not yet. That’s up to you. Later.” He lowered the strap to her elbow, stopping short of allowing the thin scooped-neck top to drop far enough to reveal more than the lace edge of her bra. “Yes or no?”

Yes or no.How simple Reed made it sound, Lily mused, her body already primed for his bare touch. Her struggle wasn’t near as much with the new sexual exploration but with whom she was indulging herself. How had she gone from always thinking of this man as nothing more than her husband’s good-looking, nice friend and partner to pining for his sexual attention for a week? She wanted to blame it on sex and male attention deprivation but forced herself to admit there were no fantasies of getting close enough to anyone else to brave this.

Which made her answer easy.

“Yes.”

Reed’s slow smile of approval curled her toes. She could get used to that look, something to ponder later, when he wasn’t exposing her left, demi-bra-covered breast and running a finger inside the cup. Tingles raced across her skin as he tugged the bra down, both breasts popping loose, the cool air caressing her sensitive flesh on the left, his rough hand kneading the fullness on the right. The odd combo of soft and hard, cool and warm sensations kept her mind and senses engaged, leaving no room for doubts to sneak in and ruin everything.

“So delicate, pretty, your nipples so fucking responsive. Let’s test your threshold, and remember, red.”

He didn’t allow time for an answer before applying slow pressure to the nub, his gaze never wavering from her face. Lily trembled under his probing stare as he tightened his thumb and forefinger, grateful for his continued hold on her nape and the cuffs that enabled her to continue.

“Oh,”she breathed when her nipple went numb yet tiny pinpricks of pain stabbed all around the areola.

“God, I love your expressions.”

Reed dipped his head and licked the tip of her aching nipple, setting off sparks. He covered her mouth next, his kiss hard and demanding as he slanted her head and released his fingers. Blood rushed to the tortured tip with a burst of hot agony, Lily’s automatic reaction to escape meeting the resistance of her bound limbs. She groaned, but instead of wrenching her mouth free to speak, she opened for the slow, teasing exploration of his tongue. The discomfort disappeared as fast as it arrived, the warm throbbing that ensued more than pleasant, she discovered, when her pussy fluttered. Her chest heaving, she quivered as he pulled away and dropped both hands to her hips, his fingers playing with the side zipper on her skirt.

“Tell me green to keep going or red to stop. Keep in mind Vickie is waiting for you, and time is running short.”

Lily loved the way he voiced her options with few words and choices, leaving her little room or time to fret over making the right decision or question what the heck she was doing here, like this, with him again. She didn’t delay, craving what he would deliver.

“Green.”

Lowering the zipper, he replied, “Then give me a second to grab something to move you along before you’re subjected to an audience.”

Lily hadn’t considered the impact of someone walking in on them, flushing at the thought, her skirt falling to her feet as Reed stepped over to a wall cabinet. The package he picked up gave her something else to think about, something that elicited a delicate shiver down her spine and sent her blood rushing heatedly through her veins. He returned to her side, ripping it open and holding up a short vibrator.

“Three speeds I’m told pack a quick wallop. Let’s see. You can keep it if you like it.” Clamping a hand on her hip, he nudged her panties far enough down to place the narrow, rounded end right between her pussy lips then flashed her a wicked grin that melted her heart. “Deep breath, Lily.”

That was all she managed before the intense vibrations against her clit sent her into a climatic orbit of spiraling pleasure, her whole body jerking against the chain restraints and his grip, her free hand latching onto his thick forearm. She held tight, riding the waves of ecstasy, her inability to thrust and arch along with the tide of pleasure flowing through her body enhancing the euphoria to yet another level higher than she’d ever achieved before. Reed’s low, soothing voice seeped into her head but she couldn’t make out the words, not that they mattered.

Lily didn’t return to full awareness until her clothes were righted, the cuffs removed, and she sagged against Reed. She sighed, trying to recall something that had felt better than his arms wrapping around her at that moment but couldn’t think of a thing. They stood that way in silence except for her labored breathing, his chin resting on her head, until the door opened, drawing them apart.

Brett popped his head in and drawled, “Vickie asked me to confirm you’re okay, but I see you are.”

He started to close the door, but Reed stopped him. “We’re headed down now.”

“I’ll let her know.”

Reed took her hand, pausing a moment to subject her to one of those probing stares before he asked with a straightforwardness she appreciated, “Between last week and tonight, I’ve put you through a lot. Are we good, Lily?”

“Yes, Reed, we’re fine. Well, I am and hope you are.” She now needed time to figure out what this all meant, whathemeant to her.

“I told you last year I would be here for you, and that hasn’t changed and won’t change.” He led her to the door, his fingers running over the bruise on her shoulder from her mugger’s bat. “What happened here?”

His light touch kept her from pondering what he meant by that previous remark. “I ran into something, not paying attention. It’s almost gone.” She hoped he wouldn’t question her further. She was having enough trouble looking away from his sharpened gaze to come up with anything else. The last thing she wanted to do was end the night talking about the attack she was trying to put behind her.

Reed’s jaw tightened, but all he said was, “Be careful. You have delicate skin.”

Vickie was waiting by the car as they descended the stairs, talking to someone who looked familiar, but Lily couldn’t put a name to her face until Reed greeted her.

“Hey, Bianca. Did you ever meet Lily?”

The brunette smiled. “We met a few years back. I just got here and recognized Vickie. How have you been, Lily?”
