Chapter Thirteen

When Reed arrived atCasey’s three weeks later, Lily was more than ready for her first exposure to one of their play parties. Under the light cotton slip-on dress she wore, the soft fabric of the ruffle-trimmed camisole and short set he’d surprised her with teased her bare skin. She’d never gone out in public without underwear, and, when he removed the dress, the soft drape of the camisole would cling to the nipple huggers causing her tips to throb in a pleasant, arousing pulse. Living with him offered a lot more opportunity for Reed to demonstrate just how submissive she was to his dominant sexual control, and the creative ways he could show her all she’d been missing. The nipple stimulants were new, effective enough to dampen her shorts and keep her on edge with needy anticipation.

Reed had been there for her every step of the way during the days following Delia’s attack and the loss of her house. She couldn’t have gotten through the blur of activity and coping with the constant topsy-turvy ride of emotional disruptions without him and her family, and friends. Levi and Vickie’s week-long stay and support helped with that first week of deciding what to do with the lot after signing off on having the charred structure torn down and the debris cleared. Donating it for a neighborhood playground brought her joy instead of sorrow whenever she stopped by to watch the progress. The neighbors were enthusiastic with their gratitude, the kids asking repeatedly when they could jump on the in-ground trampoline, climb on the large jungle gym, or go down the winding tube slide.

Trina hadn’t hesitated to free her from work obligations without a time limit, but Lily needed the distraction after her brother left, so she pushed Reed out the door to attend to his own neglected work. Living with him doubled her driving time into Casper, so they came up with a schedule that allowed Lily to work from home three days a week. Taking advantage of the new schedule, she’d met Pam for lunch the other day, and, although awkward at first, they managed to talk their way past bitter feelings and start the process of becoming friends again. After suspecting her of such horrible retaliation, Pam’s fervent willingness to reconcile expunged Lily’s guilt.

Reed parked in front of Casey’s, and her heart turned over watching him come around the truck to her side. Of all the support pouring out for her these past weeks, nothing meant as much as his arms coming around her every night and rough whispers of love mixed with titillating, erotic hints of what he planned to do to her. Waking to his snug hold each morning, and, sometimes an arousing butt swat to get her motivated, started her day humming with expectation – a welcome change from the days of fretting about unexplained bad luck.

Taking Reed’s hand, she hopped down and took in the fewer-than-usual vehicles in the parking lot, recognizing Brett and Slade’s trucks. “Will this be all, then?” She had questioned whether his definition of a small gathering was the same as hers and, assuming two or more people arrived in each vehicle, she had slightly underestimated the number.

“Maybe one or two more. There were a couple of maybes for tonight, and I don’t see their cars,” he replied, leading her to the stairs. “Weeknights are difficult for some who have kids or other obligations.”

“I still say Jordon and Bianca shouldn’t have postponed their engagement party. We could have attended the one planned that week.”

The thoughtful gesture from a couple Lily didn’t know all that well was one reason she entered the private space without jitters even though others were present tonight. The calls of concern from Reed’s friends she’d never met revealed the bond the group shared, and her goal tonight was to make him proud while testing her submissive limits.

Reed closed the door, turned his back to the room, and reached for the hem of her simple summer sheath. “Set the guilt aside, Lily, and concentrate on having fun. No one minded the delay.”

Drawing the garment over her head, he left her standing in the soft knit rose lingerie set, the luxurious material caressing her bare skin providing no barrier to the arousing scrape of his nail across one pointed nipple. Without conscious thought, Lily leaned into him, proof how easy and rewarding she found succumbing to his every touch.

“Well, since you’re in Dom mode, I’ll have to, won’t I?” she teased, brushing her lips over his neck.

He brushed her shorter hair over her shoulder, the six inches she’d had cut off a final goodbye to the past. “Have I ever mentioned I love how quickly you catch on?”

Lily grinned and took his hand, conscious of the obvious sway of her breasts and adorned nipples as they walked toward the corner bar. Some of her self-consciousness slipped away with her first look at the apparatus in use and the various outfits the women wore. Or not, she mused, stumbling slightly when Jordon waved them over to the sofa where Bianca cuddled naked on his lap. Luckily, Bianca’s lack of modesty made it less uncomfortable to converse with the couple.

In a move so casual it was hardly noticeable, Jordon glided his knuckles under Bianca’s breasts, raising a brow. “Why is it either you or Slade is always the last to arrive? I figured now that you’re committed, that would change.”

“This time, a downed steer delayed me, but we’re here now and looking forward to your fall wedding,” Reed replied.

“Brett and Allie first, though, and coming soon,” Bianca said, shifting as Jordon toyed with one nipple then gazing at Lily. “She’s so excited about your ideas. I can’t wait for you and Trina to start on ours.”

“We’re already coming up with suggestions for you. October weddings open up all kinds of options that differ from summer.” Reed sighed, drawing Lily’s attention. “What? Too much girl talk?”

“Yes,” Reed and Jordon responded together, Jordon sliding his hand down to graze Bianca’s bare labia with his fingers. They shared a look Lily envied, hers soft and accepting of his public fondling, his proud in a way she ached to see reflected on Reed’s face.
