Memories from last night flooded my mind. Brenna and I had danced until our feet hurt. I’d come up with the dumb idea of drinking more to help with the pain. After that, stuff got fuzzy. I vaguely remembered Louie carrying me into the house bridal-style, while Finn had carried Brenna over his shoulder with her arms dangling behind him limply. “Oh, yeah.”

I opened my eyes and saw that I didn’t have any clothes on. That triggered my memories of when Louie had brought me up to his room. I had stripped out of my jumpsuit and panties. I hadn’t worn a bra last night. For some reason, I hadn’t had shoes to take off. Once I had been naked, I’d dropped down on my knees in front of Louie. He had let me suck his cock until he’d been at the edge of coming, then scooped me up, bent me over the bed, and fucked me until I’d come screaming.

“I’m naked,” I said.

“We’re aware,” Dean grumbled.

I looked to the left and found Dean standing there with a cup of coffee in his hand.

“I have clothes for you,” Asher said, drawing my attention to the right. He was holding sweatpants and a T-shirt in his hands.

I held my hand out for the coffee because…well, priorities. “I’ll be out in a min.”

Asher laid my clothes on the bed and the two of them left the room. After a few sips of coffee, I got dressed, washed my face, and put my hair in a bun. Dean and Asher were waiting in the hall and followed me to Kieran’s room. Last night had been the first night he had slept in his nursery, with Caroline being the one to get up with him through the night.

“Caroline took him for a walk,” Dean said, stopping me before I went in.

“When did she leave?” I asked.

“About ten minutes ago,” Asher answered.

I nodded, not at all happy that he was gone. I hadn’t seen him since yesterday and I didn’t like that.

“Want me to call her and tell her to come back?” Dean asked, making me realize that I was being transparent.

“No. Let him finish his walk,” I said and headed for the stairs.

Louie and Rourke were sitting next to each other at the breakfast table when I entered. Dean and Asher didn’t follow me in. They had headed to the kitchen instead. I tried not to look at Stefan’s empty seat at the table as I made my way to mine.

“Morning, beautiful,” Louie said in between taking bites of his pancakes.

The swinging door that led to the kitchen opened and Brenna came shuffling in. She was still in her pajamas, which were loose, navy silk shorts with drawstrings, a matching top with thin straps, and fluffy black slippers. “I’m never drinking again,” she groaned as she sat in the chair beside me.

Rourke laughed, which made Brenna glare tiredly across the table at him.

Noah came in from the kitchen with a carafe of coffee, refilled my mug I had brought downstairs with me, and filled a new mug for Brenna. “Can I get you something for breakfast?” he asked us.

“No,” Brenna and I grumbled at the same time.

Noah nodded and set down a little pitcher of creamer on the table before he returned to the kitchen. As Brenna and I were fixing our coffees the way we liked to drink them, Brody walked into the dining room, with Nicoli and Dario right behind him.

“The De Lucas are here,” Brody announced.

“I can see that,” I said as I stirred my coffee lazily.

Brody nodded and left us. Nicoli and Dario appeared rested and pristine in their tailored suits.

“I’m not apologizing for my appearance. It’s too fucking early to look pretty,” I grumbled.

Brenna grunted in agreement as she rubbed her temples.

Nicoli just smiled, his eyes traveling to Brenna.

“Have you eaten breakfast?” I asked them. “You’re welcome to join us.”

“I’d love to join you, but we must get back to New York,” Nicoli said.

If I had known he was going to stay overnight in New Haven, I would have invited him to stay here at the manor. “What brings you by?”
